This is my idea of red faction 3 but feel free to put your ideas on here too or edit mine: 
After a short victory on earth, alias (the hero on red faction 2) learns that tangier, one of the three remaining Nanosoldiers, was killed by an unknown weapon wielded by a miner that alias knows is dead. The re-animated dead miner escapes and tries to kill shrike, another nanosoldier, but get blow apart by missiles.
Then Alias reveals that he is the guard killing machine parker to shrike before he gets in contact with Eos only to find that his past has caught up with him. Capek, the evil scientist, was kept alive by making a deal with Eos for the antidote. Eos then, not discussed in the deal, locked him in his lab and destroys the exit & entrance tunnels not knowing that he could continue his work with the dead guards.
Now knowing this, the shock of his life hits parker when they tell him that the mining company, Ultor, changed its name and started mining on mars again. Tangier was the head of miners union, got killed to stop her from warning the miners and now no one will believe parker but a handful of people. Shrike takes parker and some of his followers to save the miners from Capek and his army of re-animated of mercs, miners, and guards.  Capek created new weapons for his army.  |

You don't get it. Noone likes the RF2 storyline. We want a storyline for RF3 to start off where RF1 ended 
Good idea though, but I think something starting off as you are departing from Mars and something happens while on the ship and you crash land on another planet or have to fight in space. Something like that I think. |

It needs a storyline... Maybe starting in space on the flight back to earth and something goes wrong and you fight your way through the ship to get to the CENSORED pit and land the ship without crashing. Then while on earth Capek might have injected you with something or something Capek attached to your skin and is infecting everyone around you. I dunno.... |

Yeah like when Parker was fighting with capek or was in the source of the plague the plague parasited to parker .When it was stong enough it came out of parker while he was sleeping.Parker woke up and could feel something slimy on his body than he saw slimy trails going outside.Unknown to him the plague turned into a multicelled organisme(a creature like us or any other complex lifeform}Now the plague is in earth.Parasiting on other humans also gaining intelligence and power.It then evolved into a human like thing like the terminator 2 wich can change how it looks and skin texture but more cooler .The plague can now change into anything it looks at.It then divided itself for a an evil scheme to eliminate all humans.With the morphing abilities and the gathered intelligence of all the humans the plague parasited on. The plague formed a company (this may sound funny for some people)to restablish the mining company and rebuild it because the EDF destroyed everything.The plagues real intention was to go to the source of the plague and create more powerful versions and intelligent versions of the plague itself.Unlike ULTOR the plague maked sure the miners were happy to earn their trust even the guards were unaware of what was happening.One day the plague called all the miners and guards to a large hall.They were all unaware and were very curios of what was happening.Until it was too late they were all infected by the new versions of the plague.They were all brainwashed and were just now living puppets of the plagues .The first wave of success has began for the plague.Now the second wave .Destroy all the surviving miners and nanotech soldiers of the first and second red faction.Word got to alilas and eos that something wierd is happening on mars and it aint good.Parker who was know weak has just recovered and feeling better except the loss of some memory(side effects of being parasited}.A few minutes later eos came into parkers house and told him what had happened at mars.The miners had a satelite orbiting mars that can zoom in a 1 kilometer radius to see even an ant and can record voices on the planet.(sounds impossible but it is the future isnt it)The plague was unaware of this.Parker was shocked to hear what Eos said.Eos then told him that the plague somehow parasited on a miner who brought it back to earth.Parker then told eos what had happened to him a few months ago.Parker was quarintined and all the traces of the plague was destroyed.Eos told parker that the mars red faction had joined forces with the surviving nano tech soldiers to stop the plague once and for all.This forum sounds like my forum pg 1,2,and 3 of my RFanniversery  |

how about you (the player) are a soldier in an army led by parker against ultor which is a huge company on earth (with security forces, lol so there be enemys with guns to fight). after mars parker decides te leed a war on ultor? |

Inconsistancies aside, I think the thread creator's idea is possibly the best. I think we all thought that Alias was actually Parker (they look the same and all), and that Parker was infected with a successful version of the plague while on Mars (its the only logical explanation why Parker can survive a rocket to the head and the rest of the RF wouldn't (pay attention to the game some), as well as some bullets and explosions) that turned him into a super-soldier. From this version, Capek synthesized more and somehow it ended up on Earth for RF2. Parker, to keep from being labeled as a serial killer since he killed thousands of guards (again, pay attention, it's amazing how (if you hit every sequence in the game), you find that there are about 10 guards for every miner), changes his name to Alias. Then the stupidity of RF2 begins.
Anyway, it is possible Eos could have made a deal, for in the cut scene, Capek wasn't willing to give up the antidote. Logically they'd have to make a deal. Also, you have to realize that on Earth, Capek's work wouldn't be legal (no sensible government would allow it), so Ultor financed his work on Mars. Knowing this, how did the super-soldiers appear on Earth? Possibly through Parker (remember, it was 5 years after the miner rebellion that RF2 is set in) and the rest of the miners.
Keeping an idea where the plague is intelligent (although possible, since it is nothing more than nanites) is improbable, for if they are nanites, why take hosts? Makes a good story though, but it isn't RF-worthy. RF is about how the tormented miners rise up against an unjust corporation. The plague is just a catalyst, just to justify the rebellion (RF was written during the Columbine shooting period, where everyone thought games caused children to go insane. That is the primary reason it is rated Mature (aside from no chat blocks in multiplayer and zombies, but worse stuff is written today)). Centering a story around a side-story isn't smart. Even RF2 was centered around rebellion, so it is only logical to conclude that RF3 would have to be centered around rebellion.
Possibly the only storyline that would follow the storyline of the previous games would be something set years from the story (say 50, so far ahead that politicians would forget Ultor's little "problems" and allow a similar company to set up a mine on another planet). Parker's son is a security guard with the new company (because Parker, being scarred from the events on Mars and Earth wouldn't agree to his son being a miner, and perhaps his son could inherit his plague-enhanced powers in weaponry and defense), and the story is told from the company's standpoint. Miners again rebel, but your job is to prevent the rebellion. An interesting plot, but possibly unpopular. Well, to throw a small plot-twist, Parker had an illegitament daughter to Eos, and this daughter becomes a mercenary. The miners license the mercs to their side, and at the end of the story, Parker's children meet. The daughter tells the son about their relationship, and now the son is unwilling to kill the daughter. However, the daughter, having received a high level of training, knows that she's being paid to kill him, and because of the greed-induced brainwashing, proceeds to attempt to kill the son. A climactic battle begins, and at the end, the son wins. Finally, a fun plot twist, Parker, now 70 some years old and in a hover-wheel chair, stops his son, and leads the miner rebellion with his children at his side.
Yes, I know the ending could use some work since it starts to sound like RF1 at the end, but it does tie the stories together. Hopefully someone can pick up where I left off, since I ran out of ideas for a final battle. My last idea (which I'll admit args to Canada and back) is to maybe have the son of Capek and Masako, fused with nanites, as the final boss. It would be a multiplayer game at the end (if you wanted it to be), with the family fighting the super-son. Actually, lets make it multi throughout, and you could have maybe another child of Parker's (or Eos') who tagged along Parker's above mentioned son and fights alongside him throughout (you could even add more people, like maybe all the decendants of the original RF miners can fight alongside. Granted it would be stretching it for all their decendants to be guards). Not half-bad for an idea that took 10 minutes to think up. |

I hate to say this but I know the first couple of lines from RF 2 and it says, "Nano-technology. Developed on Mars and then stolen, then stolen again and taken to Earth and then stolen by the government to create supersoldiers" or some rot like that. |

And how exactly did it get stolen? All the miners were (most likely) infected with the plague. It could have been Ultor propaganda to try to make people hate the new RF in RF2 (reading a bit too far into the story there, rofl). Anyway, you saw easily in the game that almost every medic had experience with the plague (there is an audio file in the med labs, where the medics discuss the cost-benefit ratio of healing sick miners infected with the plague), maybe one of the stole it. The point is that it doesn't matter. I never played RF2, so I can't say exactly how it could have gotten to Earth (yes, I'm starting to realize that I'm beginning to sound like an RF version of Trekkies, debating every little detail, I'm just sad). Maybe Eos took it back to Earth to analyze and try to improve the antidote. It really doesn't matter, since the idea still works irregardless of how nano-tech got to Earth and all that.
Time to cut the grass then play some mind-numbing RF for 6 hours straight (lol). I'll be in Viper3 in about an hour, maybe 2 hours, if you want to debate stuff or what not. |

You have some great thoughts there. I would of still liked RF2 with online multiplay. It's better than the 1st gfx wise, weapon wise, geomod is smoother, etc.
If only it was as edittable as RF..... lol All I have done was be able to change what the guards say! Nothing but replacing .wav files. If only we could extract that damned .packfile file! |
