LOL. now that i look again...i suppose he coulda meant it like that. 
i guess i just get tired of hearing people talk smack about the game. you get so used to negativity, that anything(if not open mindedly looked at) can sound negative.

Just today I started on a new map. Hopefully it will be done by the weekend. It's a Halo 2 map. |

I will never say that I won't make another RF map because it will always be instaled on my PC. True, custom maps don't get played too much nowadays, but gathering friends on msn and creating a game with your favourite maps is always a blast, and is usually the only time I get to play many custom maps.
On the other hand I have found a new toy (Hammer) and am enjoying putting stuff together in that, and as a tribute to RF my first released HL2DM map will be a default RF level, probably DM-02.
It is a shame that the popularity of the game is now very isolated, but you can still get a good game of RF at any time of the day so all is not lost, but I must admit that even playing has taken a bit of a back-seat at the moment.
I doubt I will ever uninstall RF never to install it again, but if I'm being honest the flame is dwindling.

I'm quite lazy today. thats why i'm quoting Mad Ferrit, he's said everything allready.
I'm Trying out hammer to, but I also still have some RF maps lying around that need to be finished, but with the little downloads for one map, I don't really get motivated, to finish them. But I'm always downloading the new RF maps, just to check them out and see what is still going on, and being made!

ek_jason_x the whole thing comes down to if you think mapping is a waste of time. True the downloads are going down. I blame the large amount of servers running only default maps. If you like creating a whole then I don't think mapping for Red Faction is a waste of your time. There are people that still play Red Faction and still want custom maps. You make great looking maps and are very skilled in RED. I say only keep mapping if it makes you happy. Forget about the number of downloads, do it for yourself. I know that is the reason I use to do it. |

I honestly think that RF will never truly die.... There are still people around that play variations of Space Invaders so as long as someone is willing to produce a different twist (ie, Custom maps and mods) on any game it will still be played. so guys keep going with all the different skinning mods, weird type mods, custom maps etc and RF will never die, providing that is we have a venue to play in lol |

I've just recently introduced two friend of mine to RedFaction. They got A version of RF of there own. And now way play allmost averyday for at least an hour. So RF isn't dead, Its just comming alive! |

its true ... the maps we r making r not intrested in some people... MICROFACTION is a good map that everyone has... but lately i c more of my maps been playing like ZELDA and MARIO...and also Devliz trademark i made for DZ members... but the rest of the maps i never c..., If u want 2 c ur map playing it must be 1 thats very great .... in other words---->new mappers bring not good enough maps for playing so they wont be downloaded...because there aint so much PLAYA'S left... but still ....
RED is the best editor ever and the GEO regions TOPPIE !!!!
