Thought I'd dig up this old thread.
Thought we'd had a long enough break since June 7.
Lets get it organised again.
If we could get three people who could run servers, we could have a DM, a TDM and a CTF server. That would be great.
I suggest perhaps starting a cdc? So info is easier to access than sifting through 15 pages in this thread. We still discuss stuff here, but confirmed stuff goes on the cdc.
Well, what do you think? |

NO Cdc, just get the site staff involved so it can have its own page! (garner probably doesnt have enough webspace) But we can delete XIII forum? I just think one big dm server would be fine and you might all hate me for saying this but.... we should have a few default maps so n00bs and veterans alike can join in the festivities. Anyway having a 30 map rotation is just gonna be annoying anyway. Oh well. It will be great fun if it all works out though. |

Well I'd be more than happy to run a server. We just need to come up with a date and a server rotation. Depending on the number of players, it might be wise to have more than one server running. Also, with RFU3 just recently coming out, it might be nice to have a CTF server too.
I can create a CDC if someone else wants to help me run the thing. I've been pretty busy with work, so I don't want to undertake the whole thing myself. |

Perhaps a custom and default server? That allows more people to join in.
If the map pack gets too big, it stops alot of people being able to download it. We need to keep this as friendly to everyone as possible.
It would be a good chance for people to play the RFU3 maps as they weren't really played when they first came out.
Just DM wouldnt be good I dont think. You see alot of people playing CTF these days and I think people really like it. As it is RED FACTIONS frag day, we have to have all things RF available. So I think more than one game mode would be appropriate.
I'd love to be involved and I think a cdc is a good way of getting the news out. We need some sort of official webspace to let people know the details.
We could always make a website? Instead of it being too L4Y orientated, we could have a IRFFD website. We can get dotTK domains and such.
We could always turn this thing into a week? Have a few different events and such, all to do with RF. We could have a mappin comp. And reveal winners during Frag Week. Have serves running. Even have a frag week ladder/tournament. |
