I will admit that I agree with something Garner said about the OS not being very compatible with the Hardware. I noticed quite a lot that my phone is sluggish sometimes with animations. Like it jumps alot.
One App that comes with the HTC Sensation, the Youtube App, is kind of broken but it's hardly noticable.
When watching video's on Youtube through the app, the video's will play smooth for about 3 seconds, then jitter(Loose frame rate) for 1 second and return to normal for a further 3 seconds and jitter again. It repeats this through the whole video. However, browse to youtube via the IE on the phone, and it plays perfectly without jittering, so its an App problem. Not sure if its something to do with the memory? What I would like to know is, what is the phone doing while its playing the video? Is it writting some of the video to the phone and deleting the part you have already seen to free memory?
Other stuff like navigating the menu's on the phone are sometimes jumpy. You have to use something called the Advanced task killer to free up memory on the phone. What is really annoying is that apps keep starting back up after you ended them. I cannot understand why the phone needs these apps open at the time of not using them. This is why a big number of people do not like the Andriod. |
