Just as the title says, I am completely sick of Apple.
Where to begin?
Patent Wars
First off, the many patent wars with other mobile firm companies have encountered with Apple is rediculous. Apple continue to attack other companies for them stealing Apples idea's or making something that looks simular to an Apple product to protect their property. They have challenged Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and many others, while trying to secure their position in the market.
My answer to this is this:
If we as a world want to create better technology for our selves then Apple needs to allow other firms to peacefully create what it is they wish to create without the patent battles. The reason for this is because technology can be created to help people who are in need of it. For example: Hospitals could all go digital, instead of paper. Hospital records could be pulled up with pictures of a patients X-Ray, instead of having to waste material on X-Ray films. Many other reasons could be pulled in to play here. To do this, the mobile technology firms need money. Money is generated when something is created and sold. So how is technology going to get any better if Apple keep on sue'ing other companies for patents?
Apple is not the only technology firm on the planet....

Price
The other day, I walked into an Apple store in my local Shopping Centre. I had a look around at the devices they had on display and how much they cost. When I looked at the price of an iPad, I almost choked on my drink from McDonalds... The clerk who came up to me and asked if everything was alright, I turned and said "How do you live with yourself working for a company that makes devices with cheap parts and sells them for much more than they are worth?" He then go a little mad and asked me where I got my information from. I simply replied "The Internet" and continued to slurp my drink. He obviously did not want me talking about it in public because their was a lot of customers in the shop, so he went to go and help someone else.
The iPads are priced so high, that I would have to take out a Morgage just to buy one. Whats even better, the iPad 2.... Even higher, and what for? Noticed that you only get a tiny little difference from the different ipads, but why so over priced for a small difference?
The iPad 1 has only got a single core processor running at 1GHz, but the iPad 2 has a dual core processor running both at 1GHz. So your paying more for a dual core and more RAM in the iPad 2, but for the speed difference, not so great.
Apple gets most of its money from its Apple fans who fall for the biggest technology trick know to man. This is why I don't own one personally  .
You also have the same IOS look, feel and theme. God I am bored with it. Apple give you no freedom with your device. No themes or customization what so ever for your device. I get bored with the same look and feel. Id rather have something that is customizable and allows me to change the way it looks completely.
I use to have an iPhone 3Gs 1st Gen. I got rid of it for a HTC Sensation running Andriod Gingerbread. Its much better than the iPhone in my opinion. More customizable. Sorry spike I'm to tried to read the wall of text but I assume its the same reasons I've never owned a apple product. I don't like a company telling me what I can and cant do with something I brought. Microsoft are the same kind forceful people pretty much everything I install now wants to install this CENSORED ty bing bar, why cant company's like that take a hint and let people choose what they want. Same with mcafee, only people without a clue use that because pc sales assistants shoves it down your throat. |

I have a friend at work who has had a MAC laptop for a while, and he has just recently went through all the trouble of getting rid of the OS and switching it over to Windows 7. He said that its amazingly faster than the MAC itself and he can play more games on it than he could before.
His has the A5 processor in it I believe and 4GBs of RAM. Hes running 64-bit on it right now and he is amazed at the performance and freedom he has over it, rather than the MAC's securely tight OS with hardly anything to do on it.
This goes to show that people make the mistake of buying one and then modifying it to run Windows. If only Apple knew about this, they would realise that their OS sucks balls.
I am mainly sick of the Patent wars that Apple has going on at the moment.
It sickens me to death that they feel that other companies copy their products.
When Steve Wozniak built his first ever Apple machine, he ordered parts from another company and put them together. I would find it amuzing if another person did the same thing by ordering the same parts from another company and started making something slightly different but with the same functions and Steve filing a Patent war.
Apple has no rights over any Patents because they do not build their own chips from scratch up. Other companies do it for them and then Apple just buys the parts in large quantities for their devices.
I could understand if it is anything digital because they designed the OS themselves, but the actual idea of protecting a sliding bar to unlock their device and filing a patent complaint against Motorola is taking this whole sistuation to a different stupid level. |

iPad 3?
Apple is just getting far too much money from stupid people.
If I bought the first iPad and later learnt that iPad 2 comes out, I would want to upgrade to the iPad 2. But now the iPad 3... Apple is making a sucker out of people now.
Its like this: -
Me:"Hey, look at me, I got the iPad 2 now! Herper Derp!".
News broadcast: "This just in, Apple is now making iPad 3".
Me: "Ahhhhh Fiddle Sticks! I now want the upgrade".
Apple will claim a lot of money from their Fan boys and girls now. They are making too much money on something that is going to be exactly the same as the first and second iPad, but with a hardware upgrade with faster processor and memory.
If they made something with this all in already, they would not need to spend so much money on making the new iPads in generations, except they have the money to throw at this sort of thing.
Why do people go for the same look and feel? I will never know.
I wish Apple would do something different to their OSX... Like I don't know, Theme changing? A little bit customization on the OSX perhaps to make the iPad look and feel like its your own personal thing? Nah they won't do that. |

I have never found a single apple product I have liked, nor one that could be beaten by a similar product for a better price.
Which is one of the many reasons I chose Android. |

Andriod is defently the way to go  .
I switched from the iPhone 3Gs to the HTC Sensation. Best move ive ever performed in my opinion.

Love it. Updated the firmware several times, been a breeze (bar Samsung Kies).
Hoping that the S3 will be released before my contract is up (Summer) |

To go a year between products is about right... you don't see it with other brands because well the latest and greatest, next gen, supadupa Android product is released every month. If you upgraded the best phone you had each time with the same manufacturers "best phone" as they released them you'd be upgrading as often as Apple brought out new iPhones (or tablets vs iPads).
The difference is that Android brands are all so similar only a few stand out. Apple, whether you like it or not have created a brand that is unique, well known and has a rep for being a very polished product.
The fact that my 3 year old 3GS is still faster/more responsive than my GFs few month old Wyldfire doesn't help. Android have a wide range of phone specs, from phones you can hear the hardware groaning each time you click something to the really nice ones that.. well work. Apple only do the ones that work.
Brand perception is everything.

89% of iPhone users would upgrade to another iPhone whilst 45% of Android users would switch to a completely different OS.
The problem stems from the range of handsets with Android IMO, my GF hates Android will a passion as she's in a year contract with a phone that she hates. It simply isn't powerful enough for the OS. People who cannot afford a decent phone have an array of cheap smartphones that pretend they're just as capable. Except they're not... they might have the same OS but the hardware is crap.
Rather than hating the phone, she's hating the OS because THATS whats marketed. As far as she's concerned Android is just a slow, unresponsive POS. Its entirely the cheap phone she has to blame but that doesn't matter at all - she wants an iPhone because having used my ancient thing and comparing with her much newer phone she feels that the OS must be to blame. How can something 2-3 years newer be 2-3 times slower to do the same thing?
Thats the problem with Android - customers perception of it based on low spec hardware. |
