I'm seriously curious as to how someone would be able to surf the site using someone else's IP address ...
It is possible, but only if that said person relieves that IP for a new one and the other person (somehow) gets it assigned to them ... and those odds are quite small
You can use a proxy, but using someone else's IP to surf a site? i don't think so ... |

Rol_K stands for Rolph Klos. He was the technical mastermind of the Dinner server, and other various things. Kind of a quiet type though. lol |
For the sake of posterity, I will like to fill in some history. I started the Dinner is Served server in 2005, ran it on my Mac Mini. Then my roomies started hogging all the bandwidth with their lamewires. With pings up to 800, I figured I should shut it down, but then RDL put me in touch with Rolph and he offered to host it. After many seasons RF lost more players and most nights it was just myself and Nitro who played there, thus Dinner was officially retired. Honestly, I owe RDL and Rolph a sincere thanks for their help.

Hey Beat, it's true I had to bail for a year to deal with some real life BFS. But I am slowly getting back into the swing of online goofiness. 
To conclude my post, it is shameful that someone would go thru the maligned effort of harassing players and servers alike.  |

There are thousands of mappers out there and quite a few of them go unrecognized ... |

Ah but you still play. I know that at least you get a server's list from time to time. You IP still shows up on my firewall logs of IPs that are blocked. LOL
It was I who removed your quote. It's kinda dumb to quote something that is right before your post. I remove all the so-called clutter. I can understand quote another members, if you are not the next one in line from his/her post.
Basically to conclude this post (stole that from Hapa Hanu  ), I am just trying to clean up this thread. I have also removed spam posts from you as well. Posts that didn't add anything to the topic.

I agree that this arguement is going nowhere and totaly lost the point some where along the line..
But I just heard that some guys who have spent every single spare minut the past few weeks that the flooder was active, on trying to find a way to stop it, were treatend by members of the r2k clan !!! r2k-Fire is spreading lies on all forums like Voltz, that those guys, living in Belgium are infact the flooders !
Can you believe that ???
I talked to them on their server a couple of minuts ago and the serverowner sent me some private messages in which he and his son were treatend.
Looks like not all dumbos left RF, thats why the game is fu... up.

capricorn I was given those pms as the admin of that forum where it happened r2k fire is stating that that person is the spammer/hacker when he isnt. in one of his posts he started he was working on a program to stop this spammer and was going to spam his own server (no one elses just his) then r2k fire being incapable of reading I guess went off and threatened to take legal action of course with no proof as well as over the fact that he was unable to fully read and understaind what was said.
I've played this person that r2k fire is saying did this for about 1-2 years now and I know this person wasnt the one who was doing this. The sad part was he was trying to write a program to stop it and fire pissed him off to the point he saw no reason to finish the program, to me weather the program worked or not he was trying to help out then got attacked for it (Now thats petty on the part of r2k fire)!!!! |
