Wow ,that seems like a great score. I am around 15,550 with the single gtx285. I am useing 3dmark06. Is that the same thing? It came with my new card.
There is a 1 part of the test that runs at near 0-1 frame per sec. The rest of the test runs
fine. Is that normal? |

That is the CPU test testing. Perfectly normal.
I have someone asking to trade my GTX 260 for their near-new condition 4870 X2, I'm tempting myself to grab that, then make another trade but for a 285 
Just kinda urging myself not to due to having lifetime warranty with my current card for if anything should ever happen |

Ok great. That was really bugging me.
i am going to try the 3dmark vantage and see how i match up to the great Nitro's system. 
A 260 for a 4870x2 sounds like a great deal. Especially value wise. I believe its faster also. If you can trade a 4870x2 for a 285 i would do it with out thinking. I very happy with my beloved 285,lol
Here is an even better memory deal for a 4 gb solution

... I don't, but I was offered one for my GTX 260 216.... As said, value wise my 260 is worth about $260 new, 4870 X2 is worth about $400 new, and GTX 285 is worth about $350 new.... Sooo yea

The difference between 3DMark06 and Vantage are that Vantage runs on DX10, so it requires Vista. I haven't tried the 06 yet but it will probably be pretty low. Vista doesn't run DX9 as good as XP I guess. |

It's not really that. 06 and Vantage run their tests completely different. If I remember right the tests in Vantage test more around your GPU performance than CPU. Or the other way around, and it's the opposite for 06. |

Nope, Definitely not. Vantage is a DX10 program, It requrires a DX10 card and Vista

I have 16808 points in 3DMark 06, no tweaking whatsoever done to the comp. |

oh and another slight difference seems to be that it renders absolutely different scenes, with absolutely different materials and different, more expensive use of shaders, objects, emitters and polygonal complexity... lol
You cannot compare Vantage with 06 at all.
Just use 06 for global comparision.
