Im thinking about downloading new Drivers for my ATI Radeon 9600 card. Its recommended for UT3 (Its not even running ATM).

Anyone know if the latest Catalyst Drivers work with RF?
Trying to find old players. Anyone about? Drop me a PM or reply to this thread:

I dont believe Pure Faction fixes ATI, it only fixes Nvidia.

I have the drivers, just waiting to see if anyone is using these drivers...

ATI Catalystâ„¢ 8.1 Display Driver for Windows XP Professional/Home Edition

I don't think changing drivers will make your hardware incompatible, but I suppose there's always that slight chance. Personally, I don't use ATi's official drivers, I use the Omega Drivers.

I was using the latest drivers in RF on my other computer just 3 days ago on a 9600 card so no there should not be any problems

As far as I am aware, ATI has no problems with running RF, just nVidia's 8-series.

updated successfully, my god did it take an age for them to initialise. Unreal Tournament now stays as a black screen instead of black screen then kicking back to Desktop.

No, it can't. Not according to Epic anyways; they have the 9800 Pro listed as minimum requirements for ATi cards.

Nothing really, just a personal preference due to the fact that the only nVidia card I've ever owned broke within a month. I can't speak for the new nVidia card though, haven't tried them

Well the Box that I have in my Hand States:

Quote

Minimum Requirements:
Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista (I have XP SP2)
2.0 Ghz Single Core Processor (I have a 2.8Ghz W/HyperThreading)
512MB RAM (I have 512MB, Looking at boosting this shortly)
Nvidia 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ Video Card (I have an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro)
8GB of Free HD space (I have plenty)

So apparently I can run it, Im going to be investigating the UT3 Forums again as I read a forum post about a permanent Black Screen.
