speaking of hl2 what about physics and advance ai, if that hasn't been mentioned already.

Interesting list here.
But it seems like a list of features in top games today, so nothing really new (or is there something really new to invent?).

Also I am looking down to see day when RF3 is released but I am littlebit sceptical as RF has fallen to such minority phenomenom that most biggest gaming boards do not support it.

Anyway I don't know if anybody here has played thief 1 and/or 2 made by Looking Glass technologies. Sadly those games were something more than just games, they sparked a new genre : Stealth action (Splinter Cell)

However I have to say that RF has different level architechture which gives certain advantages, and things that are not possible in in games of quake's legacy which is levelsize limit +- 2^31 = 42949667296

Anyhow I really hope that RF3 comes someday out and developers really listen community, meanwhile I just focus on things that have matter for me, and one of those is school.

Well L4Y is probably the only community that really does support RF in the means of new levels and mods.

And we all know that Volition knows about us and are probably checking out the boards now and then......

so who knows maybe we will see some of the stuff here in a new RF someday

That would be kind cool to see in RF and not even hard to make. Anyway I just say that barely any handgun (includes rifles etc.) Has any armor piercing power, so those are ineffective against armored targets. Anti armor weapons are another thing and those vary alot of.

Yeah I quess that my military training was most beneficial as I know thing or two about real world weapon etc.

And I am quite sure that I will include piercing power to most of my weapons in my mod, once I continue to work on it.

How much do I love that idea you could take that idea even further and persuade AI bots to join your clan or use AI bots >and only AI bots< to inviltrate over clan practice games even when there servers are locked.

Imagine you are having a friendly locked practice game and all of a sudden you are attacked by a rival clans bots which if he kills you then you lose experience points or maybe he steals your clans flags and takes it back to his clan .............possiblitys for that idea is great nice one Kiliad

How about a more official way to define clans ... like you could register a clan on a webpage and then you could set your clan "territory" by what servers you run, maybe make officially recorded clan matches where you could challenge another clan to a match and they could accept or decline ...

now that i think of it, maybe not ... clans are waaaay to serious as it is ...

Must remember too much in a game can ruins it. One thing that made RF soo much fun, was its simplicity. I personally would like to see it exactly the same as it is. Except with the very best graphics covering every aspect of the game and a matching editor to support those graphics.

I certainly agree about the aspect of simplicity, but there are a number of things that could be added without making things too complex. The thing that keeps me coming back is the huge variety of maps. The community has stretched RED to its limits and yet the maps keep coming. Ironing out the issues of teleporting and other Single Player mode restricted events would make it so much better.

Of course, most of this thread is about pie in the sky stuff, so here's another idea. Someone else mentioned more support for clans, so how about a clan prefix that can be registered and shows up automatically attached to your name in another color.... and strictly limit names to characters easily typed.
e.g. [SD]Kiliad of Oz (Slightly Derranged)
Then if you want to leave the clan or you get booted out, the founder of the clan can simply deregister you and there is no way you can get the clan prefix back yourself.

Also, a graffiti gun!
Just aim it at a wall and SPLAT! Your clans logo is applied as a decal and it stays in the map until some other clan wipes it off.
When a logo is applied, its uploaded to the server where it is automatically downloaded again for any new players who join that map.
Naturally you'd have to limit how many could be applied.
Then one clan can go into another clan's server and stamp their mark all over the place LOL.
Not just logos, but taunts too.
Granted that could really stir up some hostility but perhaps your logo or whatever would have to be registered and approved before you could use it. Limit the size to make sure it doesn't slow things down.
