That IS realism. If someone stuck a remote charge on my face, I'd be running around in circles screaming like a little girl with my arms waving around like the robot from Lost in Space! lol

I like the dark idea, I have often thought about that sort of thing. once tried to make a map with dark patches where players could hide and ambush other players.

I would love to stick remote mines in the shadows, or proximity mines in the shadow...

I hide round a corner in a shadow as Kiliad runs past with an HMG...

I think that im safe...

Suddenly I hear a beeping noise, I turn on my torch and spot a mine on the wall...

I think another cool thing to have in RF3 would be compound keyframes ...

imagine if you were able to keyframe keyframes ... you would be able to make all sorts of cool stuff easily ... robotic arms, compound lifts and doors (easier anyways) etc.

oh and i think that there should be a rotater keyframe ... one which you could hold down the use button and it would rotate at a certain speed until you let go ... that would be very useful ... drawbridges, useable cranes, stoppable cable cars, etc ...

Definatly depth of field Like whats on the Mad Mod Mike demo from nvida. But if you had that on multiplayer and someone decides they dont want to have that on it might give them a little extra edge since their seeing would be 100% clear instead of some places getting fuzzy.
I would turn hdr and dof off Since they are performance killers. The old 6800 (what I have)have about a 30% performance drop when running hdr in some games but the new ones dont have any problem at all
That flak cannon that someone was talking about I have one like that except it needs to have a giant wad in it since its numatic It kicks like a mule and will make everything fragment except metal and rocks Unless you use some hard ammo in it like nails Oh btw its a legal gun since its a Giant potato cannon

I think Programmable bots are a cool idea, the map author can decided wether to give them a random Intelligience or play style, or determine one for them... Such as have a blue team of bots that defend the blue base. 2 of them prefer to use rocket launchers to blow up any incoming Vehicles, 2 prefer the rail gun to shoot through obstacles that the attacking players can hide behind, and 1 player with an hmg at the flag base.

Could be editable in game, Like UT2K4, but maybe have a dropdown map that you can click waypoints to control and such.

COOP game mode is something I'd really love to see.
To cooperate with other players to break into an AI fortress would be so cool. There are too few games that provide that option and those that do don't game the same gameplay as RF.
Fighting against other real players is great but working together to defeat an AI that can just keep throwing enemies at you adds a lot more flexibility.

No offense, but i really have problems seeing a COOP mission in Red Faction ...

in the original Parker had almost no help the whole time ...

in the second Alias had a little less (other than people driving him around) ...

Off topic but ... I met somebody at college today who plays alot of PC games ... he was talking about games and he said (and i quote) "Red Faction is the best first person shooter ever" ... it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside ...

Well I can't see what Parker working mostly alone has to do with COOP mode. Did you ever see Parker running around with a red or blue flag stuck to his back? And yet we still have CTF.
All you need for COOP mode are bots and I think most people want to see them in RF3... if it is actually made.
Bots simply have to patrol and attack on sight or sound but with a half decent AI you can get them to do a lot more.

Geomod could be soooo much better than it already is.
I'd like to see armored rounds in the rocket launcher that could go through metal whereas normal rockets, grenades and remotes can't. It would be geomod with the ability to say what type of weapon can cause the damage. Armor piercing rounds that will go through steel plate and leave tiny little geomod holes would be cool.

Yeah, mini turrets like in HL2 and portable force field generators would be great too.

Also, a viscosity parameter for liquids so that you can have thick mud that slow you right down.
