God is real. And he's unbelievable.

I don't believe in god, and thats probabbly why I find this very funny. However if you do believe in god, you might just find this... well not so funny |

Well, when it comes to religion i don't have a set opinion on it ... and i watched it ...
Im not really sure what my opinion on it is ... a part of me thinks its funny while the other part thinks that its probably not right (morally) making fun of religion based upon good ...
hmm ... i wonder how long this will take untill it turns into a heated debate ... or gets closed ... |

Well, that video sounds how most religious followers think. Very irrational...
The Bible was written by a mere man. not god. Religion should be a personal private matter and not a public affair IMO. But thats not how the world works now is it? |

Both Aethiests and religious people attack the other side, neither side is innocent of such things. |

i found it funny even though i have a slight small bit of faith in god most of my beleifs are firm in science
and as for trick, you need to look at some of the ages of the people again.. were not all young, and even some young people know well enough what their faith is as well as what it represents.. dont blanket people with a stereotype based on a a few threads on these forums |

Obviously, you're not religious. What I don't get, is why you guys attempt to poke fun at religious people, when we could Censored ing bash you for your beliefs as well. |
Well, lets not jump the gun. I am not Athiest and im not Christian. Lets leave it at that. As for you getting all butt hurt about it; That goes to show you that you arent as rational and open to reason as others. Yes the video was funny, but it was wrong morally. So I would appriceate it if you stop attacking me. Bye *leaves thread* |

LMAO Funny video. Religion is stupid and pointless. I need scientific proof before I believe in anything. |

I am just going to post my opinion and try not to start an argument ... just because i like reading these topics because i find them more intellectual than talking about the "damn modders" in RedFaction . However i know that both sides are Very stubborn when it comes to an opinion and this discussion turns into a arguement.
I believe that any religion that promotes their followers to do good things should be respected by everyone, even those who don't practice the religion.
I say this because there are benefits in believing in a religion for both the people who don't believe and those who do. The people who believe in a good religion are given the promise of a life after death in exchange of doing good things. The people who don't believe benefit from the good done by those who do believe.
So everytime an atheist thinks religion is a delusion and try to shake people away from their religion, you are tearing them away from something that could benefit the world, just because you the atheist think that he is wrong.
Basically, don't go out of your way to tell the kids that Santa Clause is a lie, because the kids will stop being good to get presents ...
However, you don't have to respect those religions that promote bad things and religions that are used for some group or some persons own advantage (like cults).
I have to point this out just to point out a random fact ...

Have you sat down yourself and proved the reason why things are in the universe by yourself? or are you taking someones word for it that they proved it?
Its kinda funny everytime somebody says its has to be "scientifically proved" because really they are usually just taking somebody elses word for it ... Just Like Religion |

Well, its one of those topics that are hard wired into people ...
From birth they were either brought up to believe in religion, or they were brought up to believe in the scientific method only ...
Really its kinda a type of propoganda ... |

Taking someone elses word for it but most of these people are still alive and data is pretty recient... not a 2000 year story that has probably been changed tons of times over the last 2000 years. Scientists have more convincing reasons for stuff then, 'a big ball of love that sits on a cloud said so thats why theres this!' |

But you still realize that in the future we are very likely to look back on all the theories we have today and think they are ridiculous to belive in ...
people thought that the earth was flat from scientific observation at one time too ...
so really the scientific theorys today could be just as ridiculous as the explainations given from any religion ...
when a scientific theory cannot explain something it gets changed ... so saying that all the scienific theorys we have today are 100% correct is somewhat foolish ...
What im trying to say is, what you take for granted as scientific evidence may not (dare i say most likely not) be completely true. |
