OK I force the ports on my router it’s a net gear 4gt624 I think version 3 and I’m using RF server assist 4. When I make a game I run it but it never comes up. I reckon it could be my router or firewall that’s blocking me from making a game.

You cant view your own server on the same computer. You will have to place Red Faction on a different computer to view the server. If this doesn't work, then check and make sure you force port forward on the correct IP address as your computer.

You cant view your own server on the same computer.

If it's a dedicated then you can view it using this little file:

RF Server Browser 2

I use it every time I start a server(Red Faction) to make sure that others can see it. If it doesn't come up on that list then I know others can't see and I need to correct the problem.

crazyjack1994 do you have a software firewall installed. If you are using Windows XP( Understanding Windows Firewall ), are you sure that you have allowed it (RFSA4) access to the Internet?

To find out what your internal IP address.
Do this:

1. Hit your windows key or click the start tab on the bottom left corner.
2. click Run
3. Type in cmd /k ipconfig or cmd /k ipconfig /all for more information, which you won't need unless...

From there you will see a black DOS box(see above ). There is where you will find your internal IP address.
Be warned that unless you have defined a certain IP address to a PC. The internal IP address might change every time you turn on and off your PC.

You guys probably haven't seen me in a while but, I had a problem with my game showing up because my computer had hyperthreading. After I set RF.exe in 98 comp mode, it all worked.

I wish I could still be interested in RF, but I've moved on to AoE3 for PC which has kick CENSORED multiplayer.

Man are you sure you don't have a software firewall installed that is preventing the server from showing up. You know either XP firewall or other firewall software like Zone Lab, Norton Internet Security...etc.

Is NAT Status enabled?

I'm just looking at this page:

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Netgear/WGT624/Unreal_Tournament_2004.htm

I know it's for Unreal Tournament 2004 for the setting should be the same and you only need to forward one port (7755), which means it should really relatively safe to make the starting port 7755 and the ending port of 7756.
