Yeah if it was your mod, you could have at least put your name in there but instead we see somebody else's mod. And this isnt no kids site Most of the people here are older than you I bet. |

like every one else has stated dropz..err scarface. you should think before you speek. i could coun't all the kids / teenagers on this site with one hand, but to count all the adults here well lets just say i would need more than both my hands and both my feet  i'm 25 buy the way |

I think it's something called a hobby, Scarface.
If it's such a childish thing to make games, then why would anyone bother? The videogames industry is a multi-million dollar market with thousands of talented professionals bringing their ideas and creativity into people's homes. The movie industry is the same, and people still make their own independent movies in their spare time because they enjoy the process of making them and realising their ideas. Quentin Tarantino started out making home movies, as did Tim Burton, M Night Shyamalan and hundreds of other successful Hollywood directors. If we all shared your cynicism the world would be a very boring place.
Modding is what gets many people into the games industry anyway. A good portion of Valve's development team for HL2 was made of modders for HL1 and Counterstrike who they saw as talented; most of which were in their twenties. If it's so "childish" then how come they got great jobs out of it?
And last of all, cut the attitude. Sobe disagreeing with you isn't his "problem", it's his right. I would recommend treating the members of this site and their opinions with as much respect as you demand so indignantly. |

ScarFace, you're opinion is yours, and mine is mine. I will NOT tell you how to live your life. However, I think you just insulted the major leagues of gaming out there. CEVO, CPL, CAL, TWL, OGL, etc.
You call a 22yr old winning a LAN event worth $10,000 someone without a life? I think he has "practiced" in that game enough to provide the showcasing of the skill he showed at the LAN event. Call it what you want, but gaming is actually now a sport among other things  And those who like to mod games and such for their own touch is why communities like this exist. You should think before you speak. Earning respect is hard enough in a community, you must show how and why you deserve the respect you want so badly. Me, I've made a decent name for myself on a few sites, including this one. Even in games, sportsmanship in-game and/or outside of a game are all in the same, shows how true the person really is.
You lost all respect when you started swearing at site admins and staff members. So please don't try to put down others for your faulty mistakes in the past.
Btw, I'd like to quote you on something:

What about the guys that created the Counter-Strike mod for Half-Life? They were around 20+ when they made it.... So, I guess it's that they have no life that since what they made has made them deals with vALVE and they are rich... I guess that isn't enough in your eyes?
Btw, game development companies such as THQ, vALVE, Blizzard, MicroSoft, etc. Their employees are what.. Around 20-40 at the least?! So without those people dedicated to the cause, you would not even have Max Payne to play |

we need to get back on topic befor this topic gets locked. how ever i would like add my last two cents to this depate.
scarface you are kinda right about mods being mad out of boardum and lonlyness.... ok not exactly the lonlyness part. but most defanetly out of boardum, boardum of how C R A P Y (most of the time) of a game it is that you are playing. or just to see if maby you could make the game more exating, because you can't afford to buy another game.
now as far as the no life is concerned. my life goes somthing like this... girls, college, girls, job, girls, games, girls, and whit time i have left over goes to eating & sleeping
This is it the sure fire way to kill this depate.

Wouldn't call that wise. AMD dominated Intel's Pentium series, but Intel seems to have come back with the Core 2 Duo.

dodn't get me wrong sobe. i'll be the first one to agree that an amd will aoutdo a pentium any day of the week. however for the sake of the song, "it's all about the amd's" just doesn't sound good maby all about the processers would'v worked, but than again i'm not weird all. also you'll have to admet it did end the thebate that was slow leading this topic. err. off. tpoic
