I used to pay $9.99 for Wal-Mart Connect dialup! lol
On 56K it connected @ 53.3Kb/s. It was pretty decent, kicked Bellsouth's happy CENSORED dialup out of the way
You COULD get satellite internet That is available anywhere and everywhere(Just have a clear view of the sky)! lol

I saw a commercial for satellite internet, and I think $200-$500 is a bit too much for internet.

NCF, you were able to get dial up for free? My dad is paying $35 a month for it. Although, dial up is the only thing we have out where I live, no surprise Frontier is running it like a Monopoly.
I still get it free. It's a local call from where I live. The University I work at gives it out to staff and students, but you have to leave near for it to be free. If not then you will be paying long distance charges. I use to use NetZero as well, but the service was worst. Then again, you get what you pay for...Nothing.
We got heaps of free 56k services here a few years back ... they all died lol.
P.S. Still Alive.
