if u know anything about the insides of a computer then, just power down, and unplug ur computer, and pull out ur.. one stick of ram and look for a sticker with a serial number or a seriers of numbers on it, then write the numbers down.

rinsert the ram, plug in, and reboot ur machine.. then just go into google and google the numbers u wrote down. u should find a site that has the specifications of the ram u currently have. this will also allow u to pretty much decide what kind of ram u are able to buy for pc.

if i didnt make any sence im srry.. its been a long day

did make sense. Im gonna try it right now. And how much does a stick of 512 cost? or duz it matter by brand?

sobe did you bother reading the details on the "Cas Latency" it states that it's a Cas Latency of 5. Are you sure you know what you think you are doing?
Edit:

CAS Latency: What is It?

2nd Edit:
Ups and Downs-Memory Timings Put to the Test

The second one involves a lot of reading but it is well worth it if you are shopping for RAM.

Frank.... I was only showing the high end mem stick... Showing.. lol, so what are you on about?! lmao

Yes, each brand can have their own prices, however, I would recommend OCZ or Corsair(XMS). More expensive of course

HIGH END, you think that bad example was HIGH END. I am just trying to let other know not to be fooled by the price. Just because something cost more than another, it doesn't always mean that product is better then the cheaper priced item.
With that said there is a phrase or quote that goes a little like this:

"You get what you pay for"

Hopefully a great deal. That's what I am about.

If you want a good product for a good price get yourself some Kingston ValueRAM. I've had a couple sticks for almost a year now with no problems whatsoever. If you're not sure what you want then check out http://www.newegg.com. Newegg has a great browser and even better service. They'll let you return anything.

True but that doesn't mean that they don't make cheaper version of what they sell. Take AMD and Intel, do all their chips perform the same...no the ones that don't perform well get renamed and sold for a lower cost.

I got 1 gig of dual DDR 400 powered by AMD's built in 128 bit memorry controlers. normaly DDR 400 only has a band width of 3.2 Gbytes/sec.
by having 2 sticks of ram in a mobo that has an AMD socket 939 CPU, it can run them inderpendent from each other giving a grand total of 6.4Gbytes/sec+ band width. and the fastest ram I could find was kingmax
DDRII runing at 800Mhz. also found thats most newer mobo will suport it.

http://www.kingmax.com/product/ddr2_1g_800.htm

bigblack40 I noticed you only got in a litte faster. i got a celeron same as your P3 socket. 850Mhz OC to 1053Mhz. haven't tryed more yet.
lol on saturday i found a P3 933Mhz with 256Mb ram and a seagate 20gig HD, gaming video card at the time and a sony CD burner at the tip

6.4Gbytes/sec+ band width.

I just checked mine after reading your post and I found my 3200 DDR RAM to have a speed rating of 8178 MB/s(8.1Gbytes).
