Well, just today I was on my computer looking at forums here at l4y when all of a sudden everything just stopped working. I tried clicking on stuff but nothing would open. even after I tried to open internet explorer a few times or my documents, they all would not open. I tried right clicking but nothing would pop up so that was disabled also. It also wouldn't let me logg off or turn off the computer. (I guess this is what I get for looking at too much pron.) any suggestions?

LOL, well I guess that's a good suggestion. but I was hoping you would suggest ways to get rid of the spyware. Oh, and that whitebox with a red cross was actually a smiley...and those stopped working also.

If you can do stuff on the comp get ad-aware or spybot search and destroy or spyware doctor. If not, reformat.

I think I might try reformating, because I can't do anything on my comp anymore. but if I reformat would I end up losing important files?

Don't reformat unless you know what you're doing. If you need me to explain it to you PM me or something.

If you format you loose every single thing on your HDD so it would be like a new blank hard drive. You would then have to re install windows and all you drivers for everything, then re install any programs you had..

It was removed, and it's not because of IE, because when this topic first started, it was there, and I am using FireFox, Opera, and IE All browsers showed that box.

Everyone already knows the differences of Firefox, Opera, and IE, and they stick with IE because they like it better. Let them have it their way
(FireFox does roxxors my boxxors though! lol)

But yea, I would suggest a reformat around every few months if you continually like to look at porn, and/or keep getting viruses/spyware/adware

KERPAL have you tried booting the PC in safe mod then running any of the anti spy software mentioned above. Also do a virus scan. Do all this before reformatting. It can save you a lot of time. You might think that you have tons of time but we don't. Our life here on Earth is limited, very limited.

To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:
1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when you the Boot Menu appears.
2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
3. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.

EDIT:

I took the image off. It was annoying and may I kindly ask that you please don't do it again.

Not if you have your HDD partitioned

just hold the power button in untill the pc shuts down.. then u can repower up and spam f8 untill u are able to boot into safe mode..

u can boot into safe mode with net connection, and noly ur brower will be able to access the net, allowing u to dl some av software of which u should be able to install and do some virus scans with.

i would reccomend using multiple av programs from here

some av programs are unable to find things which is why its best tp use multiple av programs..

and sobe i wouldnt reccomend a reformat on a regualr basis if u dont have a program like norton ghost.. it would take far too long to reinstall everything from scratch each time

Agree. Reformatting so be the last result. Especially if you have a lot of information or programs installed.

I also agree, but I have to ask this off topic question. Are you a Leykis 101 student?

As I said though, only if you like to look at porn and/or get viruses/spyware/adware

Then do a reformat
