. correct me if i'm wrong but didn't that other miner that said "leave me alone jerk, its been a long day" start the rebellion?

No, im fairly sure Eos started the rebelion, and parker just found his self in the middle of it  |

actually the player does start the rebel because your next to the guy that gets beatin and u start to fight ac killing alot of guards from there on and starting a rebel against ultor  |

Yeah I think it said there was guard brutality all the time in the mines. This was just a case that got a little carried away. |

Actually, Parker did nothing. If you don't pick up the pistol, the guard will shoot at you anyway. After the guard starts shooting, another miner rushes over and tackles him. Then, the other guard starts shooting. Technically, Parker did nothing save for just be there.
Of course, we all know that Eos calls in over the PA system and asks the other miners to rebel. This starts the main riot, however the M-4 riots prompt Eos to action. Thus, if Eos didn't say anything, M-4 could have been controlled and the rebellion stopped.
So, technically, some random guard started it when he pummeled the miner. However, with the abuses at Ultor happening daily, the rebellion could have started whenever. Perhaps someone should make a map where Parker is nowhere near the mines (say eating food in the mess hall). Of course, we're not debating Parker's involvement, however it would be nice to see a different beginning (say Parker's passing through the guard station, the rebellion begins, the guards rush out and happen to leave Parker in front of some nice weapons. Then you could have Parker fighting his way to the RF base (Hendrix calls him down?), then en route diverge into your own story). |

You can map it if you want, I won't even require my name anywhere in it (although it would be nice). I submitted that idea for others to do (because I've too much to do already. Revenge is just getting started, PC:CE is coming along pokily, and MP Maps will be delayed until further notice (MP Maps is my map pack for customizing standard RF CTF maps in ways that I think would benefit RF more than the thousands of CM varients that are out there already (who needs 5 new hallways and 2 new floors when my tunnel system works better?)).
Why do I mention this? Because I've actually had idiots flooding me with mail (or links to forums containing the posts) about using one of my ideas, then continuing it by asking me what to do. Practically every answer was "I DON'T CARE! It's YOUR project, not mine. Do as you please and stop bothering me!".
In case you didn't draw the conclusion, I just spent another wasted half hour (which seems reasonable anymore, as I've had days where my mail box was flooeded with them, killing its (then) 5 MB limit (didn't help a few included decompressed gifs of their ideas and actually attached what they had done, apparantly for me to review)) responding to a micro flood of ideas about various ideas I've presented. Arg, the price of having an idea... |

i think that a good L4Y group project would be a recreation of the RF game, but, with some details changed so everythings goes whacky... like, your in a differnt mine, and the miners are stoped from rebeling in M-4 and eos talks to you and puts you in charge of starting the rebellion... |

If "yous" implies I'm taking part in this, you'd be somewhat off. I'll certainly help on the creative consultant side, but I've too many back-logged projects to take on the active map creation of another project. In plainer English, I'll give ideas, but I won't map. |

This thread is a very interesting thing, too. Vidi is right, I think.
I never thought of that, but I never took care of the game description at all
A couple (parker involved) of miners of "mine M4" started the rebellion, not a single miner. It all started after the sacrifice of the one miner.
Eos then published the news to everyone throught the radio, and bang, every miner was involved because that was the only chance to gain freedom. Eos must have made a plan together with the miners, so maybe she was the one that started it all? Where was Eos talking from by the way? And what was her position on ultor? Did she work for ultor before or why is she there? I never found that out. |

Wow.  .
I posted this and I didn't expect to get so much feed back. Anyway, I think the player being at the RF base while the merc counter attack began would be cool, or be just leaving with orion and his squad on a mission right before the mercs get there because if the player is there he will have to win the fight, sometime I wish parker wasn't the only miner worth a crap in the game. |

Yeah, the whole game seems like that your team can't do squat. you rarely see miners. and when you do they get picked off so quickly they don't make good fightin buddies .
... i think a different point of view would be good like one from a different miner or possibly a merc 
that would be cool, tell the story from the mercs view. I dunno maybe because im more sinister than you all are. |
