I found a mod that has not been posted on L4Y! Its called Smod and it adds 10 or so new weapons including lasers, better blood effects (characters now bleed after every movement), ragdoll collide, a kick button (pick up a ragdoll with the grav gun and boot it across the level), ragdolls explode into little bits when you hurt them enough and all levels have more NPC's to kill!
Anyone have this mod? if so how do you turn off the gibbing system? (when the rags explode) thanks

Installing note: after you unzip/extract the files copy the 'smod' folder and paste it into both 'steam/steamapps/username/half life 2'
and 'valve/steam/steamapps/sourcemods' |

I am downloading now. At least it's only a 1min. download 
It will be posted on the site with the next HL2 File update which I will do on Wednesday. |

Hell yeah!!! I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago and it's been a lot fun (actually, I think Smod kicks gmod's butt  ).
You can do almost EVERYTHING with the Smod (fighting enemies with a bunch of explosive bananas, a PSP, Duke Nukem style kicks, lots of gore and more new FX...)

anyone think they can suss what files to edit or what console commands to use to stop the ragdolls from exploding into craply animated skulls and bodily bits? i just want to be able to pick up rags with the physics gun and boot em about without them turning into a cloud of mist.. |

Well, you will start seeing more HL2 updates from me after x-mas is over with  Last week I had exams, week before I had to study for exams.... Etc.

yo presnyakov, beat you to it.. it seems i can google smod 3.3 a whole 2 days faster than you can still waiting for DG to get back to me.. this site definatly needs better advertising, theres so little traffic  |

You need to extract the smod folder to the,
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods folder. Then, launch Steam and it should appear on the list of playable games. |

is smod the source thing for hl2? as in the latest modifivation download for hl2 right now is source gold, is that the same thing as smod? |

no, substance and smod are completly different. This mod adds new weapons (more than any other mod) loads of better blood effects and revamped textures and lighting.. |
