we can only hope volition does something smart and breaks away from THQ. only then will redfaction 3 if ever released will have proper support. |

Does volition even work on a 3rd series?
I can't remember, but I think some developement team called ragegames3D or someting worked on RedFaction2. There runs an intro of Volition at the start of Rf2, thats only because volition created that game, some of the ressources still being used, and most important - the engine was done by them.
RedFaction3 will be treated like RedFaction 2
RF2 works very closely the way RF1 works. Its like an addon to RF1 for the console. But after some time they tought they could make money on the PC platform, too. They were wrong I hate console->PC convertions which give me a "consolic" feeling.
If RF2 had mod support and multiplayer I wouldnt "hate" it, tough |

We should all get together and make RF3. Anybody know C++ or some other code which is good for making games? We have a load of mappers and modellers in this community.. let's make use of them

i acually think that with the amount of mappers, modelers, coders, and programers on this site, then (if we can get approval from Volation) then we can make a Red Faction 3 |

thats the debate here. we think its a hoax, thats why were discussing making our own RF3, which i think would sell better, and be better than any thing THQ will ever release. i think that a fan community knows what gamers want, and will make a more fan-friendly game. RF 3 could be RF with what we all wished was in the origional game. all new maps, mods, weapons and everything. |

ooooh! Where shall I start......
First of all, some of you may be thinking a remake of RF2 or RF3 in a mod form. That would not work with what everyone wants/needs. We need a nice coded mapping tool such as RED, except with more functionality and with the issues of RED crashing with too many small brushes in one area, etc. And also to be as user friendly as RED, or better yet, if "somehow", we were able to get the coding for RED, and modify it to our whim to fix the issues it has.
I propose that IF someone knows the right programming language and such, that we should ask around different companies and get their throughts and opinions on this subject. I am currently contacting the following for support:
EA Games(Electronic Arts)
Valve
Rage
RockStar
Remedy
Activision
More maybe soon. |

I'd say, use the unreal2 engine ==>UT2004 to create a "game" like RF3.
I have learned some things of unreal modding the last days, trust me, it's not that easy. Modeling, animating is almost the same as RF, but when it comes to coding...forget it.
I think it is some kind like C++ unreal uses. I don't know how that stuff works...it is alot harder than changing some properties like in RFs table files.
I have been watching some VTMs of 3dbuzz, they said it looks harder than it really is, well I don't really know it yet if thats right.
But I don't think that anyone got the time to learn how to mod games like UT2004, FarCry or Doom3. Perhaps he got the time, but thats not all he'll need for. |

contact IE Games (they made Return To Castle Wolfenstien)
they have ALOT of great modeling and mapping codes. if we can get together a team to code a program like RED to disign levels then i could get started ASAP. if you need help with modeling make sure that you make the max plugins compatable with ALL VERSIONS! |

has anyone even checked any of the othere games listed for the x box 360 not only does the page for RF 3 but aslo resident evil 5, and a few othere weel known sequal tittles. my point is maby the company developing RF 3 desided to do a "name drop" that way buy the time every one has just about forgot about the idea of there ever being a RED FACTION 3............BAM!!! there it advertised every where you look and and it just the bust thing you could ever hope for it to be. so if my thery proves true. the releas of RF 3 would probly be spring/summer of 2006. with T.V. and magazin ads advertising it exactly one week prier to the release. whis is the exact same why that all resadent evil tittles are released. |
