Rico's not here? Who are you talking to? Are you getting me mixed up with Rico? Because I'm not Rico, I'm VG, the Minister of Death praying for war. This is not Rico's mod, this is ViolentGames's mod. But if you are confusing me with Rico, thanks for the complement. Really, Rico is one of the best modders in the Max Payne 2 community and to say that I'm him is really cool. Thanks again. I hope you got us mixed up because if you did then I'm as good as I thought I was. If I need your help then I'll let you know. Thanks again.

hey vg, how hard would it be to cut a ragdoll in half like half life 2's zombies. this is supposing you could cut the origional model in half by deleting half the model and putting a texture in the middle for gore. you could even do several so you can cut em into differect pieces.. that would make for a rico beating mod dude..

problably very hard... detacting the ragdolls.. or complete replaceing them with two new ragdoll pieces might be impossible...

It is impossible the way you're talking about it. A character model could only create a projectile or level item model. Which means that a character cannot create another character model unless it was in the form of a projectile or level item which means it would not be able to have ragdoll physics. It would be a stiff body part. I could make people get cut in half or lose limbs but then I would have to make body parts for every character. Because nobody has the same head or the same arm. A few might, but not many. It would look cheap unless I went through all the trouble to make multiple body parts. But I can't model anyways. And even if I could, people would only get cut in half or lose a limb at specific times which means that it would look unrealistic like in HL2. I mean when you shoot the sawblade at the crabhead zombies they always get cut in half. That's just stupid looking to me. I'm a develpoer of realism and perfection. I can't have that lazy crap in my mod. It would be cool to chop someone in half with a grab move when using my Katana Blade System, but all that work just for that one move is to much for me. I need to spend time on the fighting system itself. There's already plenty of gore as it is. I mean I already have a gibbing system with models that I got from Rico developed for exploding baddies, and of course I tweaked the gibbing system further to allow more gore and nasty effects without going to far with it. I must say that it looks better then Rico's setup. Thanks Rico.

But if you want to take the time and make me upper torsos for every character in the game besides Max and Mona, please do and send them to me. I'll be glad to add that in, it wouldn't be hard at all.

And if you don't want to help, that's ok. My mod's already got enough in it to hold its ground against the best MP2 mods around. And I think I've already proven myself to be just as good as Rico when it comes to animating or coding. The one thing that he's got that I don't have is the ability to model, I think. And that's cool with me, because I don't like modeling. I like coding, making pFX, making sounds, or making animations. He's good at what he does and so am I. I'm not setting out to beat him at anything. We're both great at what we do.

I don't think that people getting cut in half would actually matter if it was included or not anyways. That stuff is just eye candy. Good gameplay inovations will make a mod worth playing. That's what my mod's got plenty of.

By the way, if anybody around here plays Doom 3, my Perfected Doom 3 v2.5.5 Modification will be available for download here at L4Y within a week or so. Look out for it, it's taken me a year to fully complete. It won't disappoint.

All of the original weapons ar intact. I tweaked them to act as I wanted and I've added so many particle effects to them. They are all louder and they just look like they are more powerful. I've always thought that the weapons in MP2 were weak and didn't look like they packed a punch, now they do. I didn't want to change out the weapons for other weapons because they were really part of MP2's world. So I beefed them up. Guns hurt people as they should, pistols drop men where they stand and shotgun blasts send them flying. The damage system has been redone to allow realistic damage to you and your enemies. Meaning that you can die with one shot to the head, a couple shots to the chest and stomach, and so fourth. There's even a heartshot to go along with the well known headshot. I also added dual sawed off shotguns, dual strikers, a custom pair of berettas for Max's Gunkata, and a katana blade for sword play with Max. The Gunkata will work a lot like the Gunkata found in Devil May Cry 3. It will be much better though. The katana blade fighting system will allow you to attack people on all sides of you with no problem. And I will be making some of the enemies attack you with melee combat. I figured somebody's got to use a club of some kind on Max every now and then. They can't all have their guns ready. And this way, you can have some people to fight with your sword. Or you can just shoot them. I've also added a shrapnel effect to the original grenade, a clusterbomb, and a nuclear bomb. I've even added in 3 elemental like subattacks that deal with fire or lightning. They are all very useful in their own way. One uses lightning, another uses fire and the last uses both. You even have them forever. Their special abilities that Max and Mona have. I'm not gonna say much more about them but I will say that they either electrocute or burn your enemies. And burning people has never been more fun now that I've added in a running burning death animation that ragdolls at the end leaving a burning corpse. All of the weapons use all kinds of new effects that I've made for them and their projectiles leaving battles filled with dust effects and smoke effects from both guns and bullets. My effects are similar to that of F.E.A.R. since they are so overly done and dramatic. And the ragdoll system rivals Half-Life 2's. Just wait, my creation really adds a lot to the game.

A few more things I forgot to mention about the Gunkata System. It's kata attacks only allow you to fire at people who are to the side or out in front of you. I did this because I've never really had to shoot at people behind me without seeing them first in MP2. The map designs help you out with these kind of problems and since I'm not adding any maps to the game I've worked with the original maps in mind. So instead of Max being able to shoot in the backwards, backwardsleft, and backwardsright directions cleric style, he is able to perform other more importane moves. The left and right backwards attacks allow Max to shoot around corners with deadly effectiveness. The backwards attack will either allow Max to shoot backwards and forwards at the same time just to be safe, or it will allow him to fire off many many bullets in a forward direction while doing cool looking moves similar to Gungrave's Gunblast attack animations which keeps him comepletely safe. One is for safety and the other is for destruction. I haven't completely decided on which move to keep, but I will figure it out. I am currently using the Gunblast like attack which I am planning on keeping, but both are complete. If you have any suggestions on this decision please feel free to suggest them. I'm all ears. If not, I'm satying with the Gunblast attack because of the destruction factor.

Not really though but in gungrave Grave's spinning attack allows him shoot enemies all around for a wide range effectiveness and maybe add some weapons combinations for the enemies so that each emeny have a different weapon oh yeah did reskin weapons some of the weapons because i seriously don't like the orginal skins of the berettas desert eagles the shotgun and the m4 carbine maybe changed the m4 to a m16 skin maybe but i'm not a modder just a guy with suggestions

smokey45: It didn't shoot bullets out in all directions. It only fired at what you were aiming at. I'm talking about the attack that starts when you tap shoot rapidly. Remember that move? I've done something like that in my mod and it only shoots in front of you like it should. As for the skins, every skin in the game has been sharpened to the max to get as much detail out of them without distorting them. And a lot of them have been darkened too. Especially the skins with a lot of black on them. They are both sharpened and darker in color. So expect black guns like the berettas to be darker and more detailed. I didn't want to change these kind of things in the game because they make Max Payne, Max Payne. His black berettas are his trademark weapons. To change that would be taking away fro the original game. My mod isn't about that at all. It only adds to the original game which in the end becomes something far more nicer looking aswell as way more fun. It's really a TC now and not just a mod. It's Violently Enhanced Max Payne.

MAXPAYNE4664: Gungrave didn't really have a Gunkata System in neither one of the games. If you are you talking about the anime, I haven't seen that. But some of the Gunkata like attacks that I saw in the preview were way to slow too. Are they faster in the movie?

The Final Final Gunkata System will now allow you to sweep across areas with bullets depending on the direction of your choice. Forward sweeps from forward to forwardleft and forwardright at the same time. Forwardright sweeps from forwardright to forward and right at the same time. Right sweeps from right to forwardright and backwardright at the same time. The left versions of these attacks of course mirror them. Instead of right they shoot left. The only direction that you won't be able to fully cover is the backward direction. I'm not worried about this because of the way MP2's maps are set up. Nobody really gets behind you that much without you seeing them first. So it'll be your fault if it happens because the maps didn't really include that in the first place. So you don't need a backward kata attack. That goes to the Gunblast attack. I have to make room of course.
