It seems like nobody plays this game to have fun. I can't even play without being accused of something any more! I don't even have to talk about being accused of modding, but now it's glitching!! I run over a weapon while shooting, and I'm a glitcher. I switch weapons before reloading and I'm a glitcher. Obviously though, I can't start winning cuz then I'll be called a modder. I'm really getting sick of all this bull****. All I want is to have a good time playing Red Faction. I play this game for FUN not to STRESS OUT ABOUT IT. |

Being called a modder or a glitcher whilest your just playing the game as it was intended to. Can be seen as a complement. If I win a game with high numbers and the call me a modder, i'm honnered because i know I won without mods. |

Yup, I take being called a cheat when I know I'm not as a complement.
It means the person calling you a cheat knows he'll only get to be as good as you by cheating. |

Ditto. It seems like this happens everywhere though, Halo is a given that it will happen, RF...well I'm not gonna bother exaggerating that one, anything on Steam, etc.
It all depends on the group of people you are playing with and whether or not one of the accusers has control of the server. If they don't then to hell with them, they aren't worth the time getting mad over. If they do have control, then you may have a problem unless you have other people who know you in server. |

Quoting Viper | If they do have control, then you may have a problem | Unless you sweet talk them.
After being in a few PS servers aswell as RF servers over the weekend, I came to the conclusion it is the new generation of gaming kids --- arrogant little f|cks with no sense of anyone but themselves [you know, the ones who tell mom and dad what to do] ... anyway I think there are more pressing issues at hand .... Johnny, you got something in your eye? It looks like it hurts. |
If I ever get to where I am going, will I know when I am there? |

"Bit of poo in eye": OOOH I'M SORRY!! *jumps out of eye and splats on glasses*
Johnny: Ahh you piece of crap. Get off my glasses!
Piece of crap: Err, ok *slides off and lands on shoe*
Johnny: GET OFF MY SHOE.
Piece of crap: AHHHHHHHH *dissolves*
Hey that'd make a good film |

Well if you are looking for some fun then get this file and join the {FM} server that I am running. I'm only running {FM} Map and my maps. A couple of us wanted to do that this weekend but so far it's only been me and {FM}MightyMouse.
NCF_and_FM_maps File size is 168.77 MB
It's all the {FM}Clan Maps in one .VPP and all of my maps in one .vpp (with music). |

Don't take it as an insult. It seems like standard practice for noobs to call skilled people modders when they get owned by them. Actually, my first time playing I was called a modder (if they knew it was my first time, they'd have relized how stupid they sounded, as when you first start, the last thing on your mind is modding). I still laugh everytime I think of how I pwnd the so-called "vets" of what would turn out to be the future Fallen Angels clan (yep, those idiots actually formed a clan to stop me, and I killed them all (about 7 people) with just me and two friends of mine (the very first **TEM** (well, my **TEM**, as I've been informed there have been previous Templar clans, which we may or may not be related to (I was introduced to clan play by **TEM** Reaper, but he says he started it himself. Then when he quit, I took over)) clan war, and we killed the "vets", I hope you can't hear me laughing, but it is funny).
The point is, just laugh at them, then own their sorry selves back to Canada. If they have to call you "modder" over your skill, it just shows how infantile they are in their thoughts. It never occurs to them to practice or anything, so they just assume that anyone better than them would be a modder.
Of course, the best feeling is when you actually kill a modder yourself (it isn't hard, so long as they aren't firing a large mess of fusions). Of course, it never occurs to the idiots who call you a modder that they should just shut up and either kill you or ignore you.
Basically, keep playing, as it's only real idiots who think that others are modders. If you can kill them by yourself, issue a war offering: you against all of them. I don't know of anyone who'd refuse this unless they were afraid of one "modder" killing an entire clan (usually 3-5 people show for a match, so it'd be 1:3, more than equal if you were a modder, and since you're not, it could be overkill if you weren't so skilled).
If you want to have fun, just play in Viper3 or make your own server. If not, see me when I'm on RF (which is rare lately) and we'll kill those noobs (I hate not being able to spell it right because of the filter. NCF, why is this?) together. Someone has to show the new people what real skill is about, so make it your little charge to do so. |

To be honest, Red Faction is a great game, for the moddability (the GOOD mods, not the BAD), the gameplay, the action, but most importantly, the community.
Arse faces like them deserve to be shot with a thousand rail drivers, when they accuse harmless citizens of this community of cheating.

Hm... I see your guys' points about it being a compliment but I'm just sick of it. I'm getting to the point where I don't even want to play just cuz I don't want to have to sit there and defend myself. I just want to play. Thanks for the responses. |

Pred, what would that accomplish? They have the game info on their side, and your HUD isn't affected by Mything or anything like that, so HUD can't tell if a non-HUD mod is up or not.
Also, screenshots are rediculously easy to mess with (time-consuming, yes, but very easy if you have 6 hours to kill). I remember I once generated my own false screenshot of me getting a 600 in DM just to get a few laughs. Of course, as it was a lie, after I posted it, I threw it away, as no one appreciated the time spent on it and I didn't like that lie on my computer. The point is, give yourself say 6-12 hours and Photoshop Pro and you can mess around with it enough to look authentic. This is especially true on dark levels like CM, as the darkness hides a lot of the micro-errors.
Anyway, the trick is to paint the whole background the color of the base screenshot. Then overlay it, and create plenty of layers (one layer for each score). Then play mix-and-match or make your own (using a nice inserted text set to match the color of everything around it). The time-consumption is in ensuring it is all exactly right. If there's one corner exposed, it's an obvious fake and no one will like to look at it.
Now that I've told you my secrets, I'll give you this warning: This is only meant to be done for fun. If you do this to try to get back at someone, you'll only arg them off more. The creation of false screenshots is purely for fun, and once used for non-entertainment purposes, it becomes sick and wrong. Basically, if you're doing this on a "funny RF page", that's ok, but other than that, it's just wrong. Falsifying information is not going to help you any when you're playing the game, it'll just make you look like 10 times the noob. NCF can edit that down, or I might just take it out later, as this information can lead to some major problems. So, if it's still up in an hour and a half, it's gone. |
