i was wondering its been ages since ive checked for new mods and i won thinking if anybody has made Rag Dolls Effects??? if someone has could they tell me cause one of my friends said they might make this happen but it would take ages and be really hard
How could anyone do this on RF when theres nobody able to make simple changes on the Menu. Subz or Hermit done this somehow tough
edit. of course you can always create non-interactive rag-doll animations by using havok. This would have been the next thing I was going to do, but its worthless.
I have used havok a few times for the lego mod, it was very time saving on that brick wall that explodes into pieces Can be seen in the actual teaser

the ragdoll effect is when the body becomes limp but still interacts with the environment.
Say in RF atm if a character died on top of some stairs his body would fall to the ground where he was killed.
If RF got the ragdoll effects the body would slump to the ground and then continue to fall/slide down the stairs in a realistic way.
and instead of the body just being one peice his body would become many peices with their own individual values like the arms would be broken up into hand, forearm and upperarm while the leg would become foot, lower leg and upper leg then there would be chest and head as seperate ... again with different weights so they would react differently but also still be all connected to each other.
I know this isnt a very good description so i will give a demostration

UT only has a mix of animation and rag doll. The weren't set up properly..I've seen better (For example FarCry or MaxPayne2 or Fear or...). (Probably they have made them so exremely because it wouldnt look good the realistic way) Another thing is that these collision physics take up too much performance yet. And that wouldnt be good in online matches
But this problem will be solved if when everybody has a Computer with 2 cpu cores, heh.

Goober, I'm not sure if your version of 3dsmax already has that havok. It's some kind of a plugin. Just bigger.

Well I just thought of a new way for you to make new death animations for all the charactors in the game.
Lets talk about doing this for 1 charactor.
1st you need the bone names for the charactor Get this by opening (damn its been a while) the charactor model file near the end I think is a list of names. they tell you the names of the bones.
2nd you must make a bone structure with the same names and hierachy.
3rd once you have the bone setup made you can begin to animate new third person animation files.
This probly would take loads of time to do and get right but it is doable. This would also for any 3rd person weapon arm/hand positions, allowing for your new weapons to be held correctly. Doing this for a mod would be over and above any thing that should ever be expected.
