Whether you play or not if you donate you will recieve the t-shirt if you make the minimum $15 donation.

It will be one night of one big TDM, TKOTH, etc. Just a mix of maps. All fun and joking on TS with no pressure for anyone to win. Everyone wins as it is all for fun and charity.

Our TS information is available on our website so feel free to join us in the chat while playing that nite and any nite you come to play with us.

We thank everyone for their past support in our efforts to show support to our troops and thank them for their effort in this tournament.

PS. Molodiets..... I handle Publicity 90% of the time for ATN. Genxer was kind enough to post here as I lost the password to my AVPU account. It is not Splitter position on ATN to handle marketing of projects or tournament.

Let me get this straight. The govournment's budget for the war is so low that they not only set up a charity for it, but hold a gaming contest to raise money?

If it were for something like Oxfam I would do it, but I don't consider war a charity.

The government has nothing to do with this, and what gave you the idea that the money will go to war?

ATN is a gaming squad arranging a charity game. The donated money will benefit children of fallen soldiers, and they actually need the money.

Understand now?
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Fair enough. "Supporting our troops" just sounds like war funding to me.

There is a big difference between supporting troops and funding a war.

Many I know joined the National Guard to help pay for college. Never dreaming that they would be sent to Iraq. Once you join the military in any way, even to help pay for college, you have lost your right to not go over when the government sends you no matter what you personally believe. You lost your freedom of choice.

This charity is about helping the families of the fallen soldiers. Don't start a debate on politics on the war (as that has has been beaten to death and won't change things) and such a debate will take away from what this post it about. As an ex-staff member, I speak to you a current staff member here and say have more respect for forums that are trying to do good than that.

Really?
But giving money to orphans is not supporting troops unless you donate only to families who support Bush or if you donate only to children that are willing to become soldiers. Here i suppose the money is going to go to all orphans of dead american soldiers, isn't it.

Yes sorry. We are notorious naysayers. It's unusual to see advertisement for charities here. And the sentence: supporting our troops may have induced us in error.
True that the difference between supporting US troops and supporting G.W.Bush has never been that clear for Splitter (one of the main responsible for ATN)

Maybe the reason you haven't seen posts here for charity is because people here debate everything and can't just leave the subject alone if they don't agree on the charity. Hence taking away from the true subject at hand.

Funny how no other gaming site nor squad site that this has been posted on for the last 2 weeks has had any of what I have seen here.

This is the reason why when I was on staff that I wondered why all news posts allowed comments. Some just don't need it.

Not all are.
Some are closed before.
I could also suggest a system of petition to allow users to remove some irrelevant news. But i, for myself, don't believe in censorship.
