Mrdarkangel4, follow these steps for your lighting to work
1. Start RED
2. Load your map
3. Hit "W" key
4. Calculate lighting
5. Hold "Shift" key and hit "W" key
6. Now, calculate maps and lights
7. Save map, create packfile, play level
That should fix your problem Im hoping |

Did you change the range of the light so that it is big enough to cast on your walls / ceiling / floor?
If so, this is your little routine...
1. BUILD (Spacebar)
2. W
3. Shift+W
4. L
5. Shift+L
6. Save
7. Create Level Packfile
That should work If it doesn't, then try to be a bit more specific with your problem. |

Quoting goober | MF, what is the L, shift+L for calculate lightmaps and lights with no shadows? | I'm not a MF but I will try and answer that one. L calculates the lights regardless if they are shadow casting lights or not and it's something you have to do so they won't go out in your level if you have Geo in it. W on the other hand just hides the objects and then you have to bring them back and hence the shift + W. Remember to do the steps that MF guys posted above every single time before you save a map.
There is only one time when you don't really need to do that. When is that you say. Man we sure are nosy today.
* Hear a voice telling him to let goober know.*
OK you don't really need to do it if you are going to send it out to someone to check out the level for you or if they are going to fix something for you. When you calculate the lighting, usually the file size gets much bigger and hence it will save you sometime emailing it or via messenger.
*Talks to the voice he heard. If you keep talking I will go back on the medication.*
Any way, just remember to calculate the lights in your maps before submitting your files. Especially if you will have Geo in it. |

or because all textures are a lot brighter with no calculated lights | No & yes because if you don't calculate the lights, the map will go dark and you will have funny looking greyed out textures. |

Quoting goober | That's if you blow up something | Why would you have Geo-mod technology in a level if you weren't going to allow Geo-modding(level hardness of 100 and no Geo-regions)? |

Quoting Assassin | The method I posted works for me. It was the way I was taught. Ill have to try MF's posted method. | Now let me ask you this...Do any of the level that you built have Geo-mod in them? If they don't that might explain why they work for you. It's an extra 2 steps, even if you say it works for you why take the chance when adding Geo-mod to a level. Well not adding, more like allow it. |
