Recently i have Uninstalled UT2K4 so i could get the bug problems fixed ... after i reloaded it, and got on this page to download patches. but when i downloaded them. my computer didn't recognize it as a executeable.  So i when to a different computer and tried it again (my computers are networked)... still the same thing ... so i went to a THIRD computer and tried it again ... no .exe.
Am i missing something?  It worked in the past. 
Its like it doesn't recognize the information as a .exe after i download it ... |

Im sorry to resurface this topic ... but i stopped playing UT2k4 for a while and ive come back to this problem again ... this idea did not work.  |

The solution is probably real simple. When you download .exe files from this site and they aren't in a .zip/compressed folder it screws them up. All you have to do then is just rename the file that you downloaded to something like this:
UT2004 Patch.exe
You can name it whatever you want as long as you make sure you add the .exe at the end, no space.
Now your computer should be able to open the file. if it isn't that then I have no clue what it could be, well not right now. Please reply back if it worked or not. I just like to know that what I recommended worked or not. Thanks.  |

I had the same problem as you do.. I ended up using links from Frank's Teamspeak to get the necessary patches. |

OK OK I'll post the links. 
1. UT2004 Windows 3339 Patch
2. UT2004 ECE Content 1.1 (3339 Compatible)]
3. UT2004 3355 Official Patch
Install those in that order and you should be good to go. If you do the UT2004 ECE Content 1.1 last it messes up the Umod self installation thingy. 
Note: If you can't open Umods the just install the 3355 patch last like stated above and it should fix the problem. In other words that would be the only real patch you would need to do if you have the other version installed. I hope this helps.

It worked ... why does the site mess up the file if it ain't in a .zip or .rar anyway and why did it use to download corectly but not now ... nevermind, im gonna burn a fuse thinking so hard  
Thanks for the help. 
You guys might want to compress those or something to prevent other people from having problems ... or not, im not the staff . |

Haha! Well, I did! Woo! But, I still make time for the occasional game or two... Maybe tonight ill Join TS around.. lets say, 9:00pm or so. And then we will once again see who the reigning champion of UT2k4 VCTF is! |

Wouldn't that be Volte? Unless I take off the double jump which gets disabled when I change maps manually and not through the map mixer either.

Sorry about that buddy I must have missed that post I quoted. Any way, I don't know why it does it. I first noticed it in the section that I am staff for Red Faction and did replace a couple of files. I would be willing to replaced those pesky UT2004 patch files with one that are within a .zip folder to prevent this from people thinking that the site sucks, but I don't have Admin rights in this section so maybe OutlawSkot33 can do it for the good of the site....now for a smiley.

Speaking of Double jump! You really need to put it back to quad jump again! And I noticed tonight that there is a limit to the amount you can jump!!! CENSORED CENSORED CENSORED ! LOL  |

I got tired of people thinking that they were Kangaroos, so I added the {VAS}Jump Less Mutator. You try jumping for too long and you will feel like you are getting stuck on the floor.
Knees and I like it this way. |
