ok this is a problem for me and a friend. i cant join and see any servers he makes and i have his ip to, he can see my server but cant join, we both have version 1.20 and still we cant play eachother in one of our servers. if anyone can help me plz help. and im uesing lazyban 1.20 and hes uesing his disc |

Do either of you have lynksys routers?
If you do... go into your IE and type in 192.168.1.1 and hit enter
Then... You will need a user/pw... they should be admin/admin
After that... look for anything that says port forwaring... etc...
Type into the port boxes... 7755 to 7755 ... Give the application a name... like RF!
Check the UDP box.....
Heres where it gets tricky!
Go to your start menu.... click on run then in the run box type in cmd ... hit enter...
You now have your command prompt in front of you!
Type ipconfig into your command prompt and hit enter!
There should be three things that come up....
-IP Address
-Subnet Mask
-Default Gateway
What you want to do is take your IP Address and complete your form that you have started in your IE... by simply adding the last 100,101,102,103,104 ETC... whichever number your computer is behind your router... click on accept changes and you are good to go!
Go into your RF setup... Under the Network tab there will be an option to force a port... you want to force port 7755!

Are you guys on dial up connection then? You would have some sort of router if you are on a high speed connection!?!?!

well do you have a modem? (a big box like thing with lights on the front) or do you have dial up, when you have to click a icon on your desktop, then your comp makes a funny noise and then you can use the internet?  |

man now on high speed, i wouldnt beable to go back to dial-up  |

It could be your firewall blocking rf. I you adjust it then it could work cause this was a similar problem for me once and I had to adjust my firewall |

are you guys in the same house? or are you guys living at different places, trying to connect to the same game? are you on cable or dial up? there are certain settings i think you need when running a server on cable, because i could never find my cousins until he finally figured out what ports needed to be open. so maybe you guys both are noobs at the whole port setting, but dont worry, we've all been there. anywho, there should be someone around this place that knows what ports to be opened for me, im standin strong on the 28k, (old school baby) and therefore arn't in need of any of these silly problems, since they knew how to make 28k modems better than cable modems  jk jk i love u all
