If i were you would work on texture next ... if you go to the texture mode UV unwrap you can size the texture to a good size. takes practice though ... seemed so hard when i started it
I don't have any files publshed though so youre a step ahead of me .... the maps i do make are just for me like my own citys and stuff like that. They are too big and complex for multiplayer .
could you send me them??? sounds fun.

It's a good start, but there are essentials that you must learn. Trust me, it's better to learn them now then to stumble blindly for two years like I did.
First, go to Red Tech. Go through the beginner mapping tutorial, it teaches you great stuff like breaking glass.
Second, get to know basic skyboxes so you can make outdoor levels.
Third, learn how to use Jitter and MEsh Smooth to make neat terrain.
Fourth, UV Unwrap, for realistic doors and stuff.
That's a great start. But the most important thing I've learned to do is DOWNLOAD OTHER PEOPLE'S SINGLE PLAYER MAPS! Play through them, then open up the editor and dissect them. Learn all the ins and outs of how the author did what he did. Trust me, I've learned a ton by taking apart other people's maps.
Looks like somebody has a case of the Mondays.
