I wasn't aware they'd changed the name. No idea about anything except that you should probably have a 64 bit processor to run the 64 bit version of Windows.

Windows Vista is also formerly called Windows Longhorn........

It is a 64-bit windows for servers I believe. Here is some info:

Longhorn/Vista is the next consumer Windows client like WinXP.

Windows 2000/2003 are the server Windows clients.

In any case, it's 64-bit. But what would be the difference between this and WinXP Pro x64?

Actually the server version is still called Windows Longhorn Server.

yah I hope vista runs a lot smoother with drivers, installing and uninstalling, and basically does a way with a need to re-install windows all the time.

Aww, but all those were my favorite features :-(

Gone are the good old days of mashing together drivers in a vain quest to convince dos 6.2 and win 3.11 that my 8bit soundblaster 2 was capable of 16bit audio! Gone are the days of games coming on 4 floppy disks, gone are the days of thinking the argyle tile pattern made for an interesting desktop background, and gone are the days of thinking that changing the dos prompt was worthy of a 2 page article in Pc Format...

Still, I dont miss progman.exe

We all know he can't have it already

And I knew there was a server called Longhorn

Can someone please tell me the answer to my quote/\

How many times does this have to be said?

32-bit Computers will NOT run 64-bit Windows!

You need an Athlon 64 or so to run a 64-bit version of Windows. Don't keep telling yourself, "I just hope my pc is compatable after everyone in here told me it's not"

You can look into upgrading to a better pc Or simply buy a nice prebuilt 64-bit system.
