heh there we go "nothing to do with direct x" and u tell him to do dxdiag. which is DIRECT X DIAGNOSIS
Just try updating your drivers before we go in depth. thats the most common problem.
make sure you remove your old ones first too.
What card you got anyway? if you cant find your drivers or whatever tell me what your card is and ill give you a step by step.

Press "start" in the taskbar the press the button execute an put
"dxdiag.exe" press run an then check in the window if ur video card
driver information is displayed correctly, and check if there are not
any broken drivers.
If u say us what video card u have it can be more easy |

what the hell are you talking about.
Xbox live, direct x? what?
Completly off topic and just well. Weird.
FTP'ing your xbox to your pc is actually illegal if your talking about some kind of modification.
what does that have to do with xbox live content?
ill be honest and say im lost. you havent made it clear what your talking about. |

hmm DirectX 10
1.- DirectX its software for PCs!!!! if xbox uses directx im sure hella no that u cannot upgrade it trough Live. imagine that, while ure instaling directx (suposing that it can be done) the electricity goes off, what u send to hell ur xbox???
1.1.- If ur suposed DirectX10 its out there, im sure it will be first avaible for PC than for a Xbox trought live (that its almost imposible that is avaible in Live).
2.-Skipy is wright thats ilegal
3.- In DxDiag u can run Direct3d n DirectDraw tests
4.- Thats completely off topic
5.-Recomendation: get urself a little reality will ya? |

To the guy asking about Sound Blaster Linux and dxdiag; The Sound Blaster sound card almost assuredly uses some form of DirectSound. DirectX is more than just a graphics package; you have the DirectDraw and Direct3D components for video, DirectSound for audio, DirectInput for controllers and things... DirectX is pretty much everything to do with the operation of modern games. This is why Games with OpenGL rendering still ask about DirectX; the DirectSound standard is pretty much ubiquitous these days, as well as DirectInput. Yet another example of Linux leeching all its good things from Windows, but that's another topic entirely...
As for the OP. Definitely open up dxdiag by going to start->run->dxdiag.exe and run the tests there to make sure everything's fine there. Then, update your graphics drivers to the latest version. If even that doesn't work? Find your system backup disks and go for the reformat, 100% guaranteed to fix all problems. |

okay "xayu"
your talking about modding xbox which is illegal.
Your not supposed to take the drive out and switch it. and your not supposed to mod the files in anyway - even renaming them.
I understand what you are saying about it now.
Please dont continue to talk about this. |

Anything that comes off of XBL you've paid for... thus it's not freeware.... that's scarily close to the definition of the opposite. Technically speaking, unless the software vendor specifically writes that it is ok to modify the program, then it's illegal. Sure millions of people do it, but it's illegal. |

XBox's run a modified Windows 2000 kernel and have modified GeForce 3's in them so naturally they have DirectX as well.
The reason they are able to run games looking 'so good' on a 733Mhz (not 800Mhz) GF3 card is because games are solely coded for the XBox in mind. Not the 1Billion combinations of PC hardware.
They do not have 6200's or anything remotely that powerful in them.
The main fact of PC vs XBox components comes down to the TV.
TV standard output is 800*600. Thats the lowest default resolution under WindowsXP and a resolution I've not played games in for many years on a PC.
As for the actual topic - check your drivers for your video card. If they're up to date - has UT2004 ever worked for you or is this just a one off? What is your graphics card? Its possible your card is too old to support the DX version required and hence falls over sideways when trying to play.
Any card made in the last 5 years will probably be ok... unless its one of those lovely cheap onboard things that run practically nothing |

SO he says that the hardware on an Xbox its better thatn a PC,
1.-U can never play a game at high resolutions in a Console.
2.-A PC must handle OS + Game + Hardware thats because the computer specs are higher but they are a lot powerfull than a console.
3.-DirectX 10 is not avaible in any system or PC |

DX9.0c is the latest out.
DX10 isn't due for release until Vista is launched next year. |
