Hello.

My brother has *APPARENTLY* has a SiS 300/305/630/540/730 ON-Board Graphics thingy on his PC...

I checked this by Right clicking My COmputer, Properties, Hardware, Hardware list or whatever then Display Adapters.. and it came up with the above.

Now, he's having problems running SimCity 4. The computer is well within the specs of the game, but I thought the problem must be the drivers. So I went on multiple sites searching for drivers and downloaded some... tried to install and it gave some error like "Please make sure the device is fitted correctly. And it is advised you reboot your computer before installing the VGA driver."

So I couldn't check it was fitted properly as it's an on-board and I wouldn't know where to find it, but it must be on as he can play OLDER 3D games. I re-booted the computer and tried again. No cigar.

So I downloaded another set of the same driver from a different site. Same problem.

Anybody have any answers? Comments?

The SIS onboard thingy I have on my work PC is utter garbage. When I say that I mean 4 year old games barely run on it.

Its possible the drivers are the problem but its more likely (IMO) to be easier to just get a new graphics card and disable the onboard thing. The only time onboard things are good is for office work when you're not supposed to be playing games

I myself prefer VIA, but, whatever works.

Try uninstalling the drivers in Safe Mode, then install older drivers that worked
