Aw quit bashing his contents guys
It could be what you suggested Grim but I've found I am able to run a server with a 0 kb file through Server Assist 4. Only in-game will I get an error with such a file.
Also, he's not running any custom maps or mods at all if you notice, so unless you somehow removed one or more of the default maps from your computer it cant be that you are really missing anything.
If that isnt it either then its a simple Server Assist error, reinstall it.
If THAT isnt it, then reinstall RF completely and reinstall Server Assist after that and then try. |

um usually you get the run time error with rf when the shortcut you used to start the exe isnt in the rf file to begin with.. if that makes any sense, its easier to explain when regularly talking |

Yes i think i know what the problem is as i had the same one.
Is your RF installed to the default location because if it is not then Server Assist will look for the default location for the multi maps ie. C:\Games\RedFaction\User_maps\Multi. I did not find anyway to change the location of where Server Assist looks so i could never use it but people cant see my server anyway so it doesnt matter.
If that is not it then sry i cant help |

Actually your wrong. It's the BEST thing I have used yet. I got the Pro version of McAfee Virus Scan(the latest version). It works much better than Norton and doesn't hog system resources. Oh and you say it's cheap?! It's the same price as Norton AntiVirus....... Dirt cheap my @$$, lol.
Oh and to solve your problem. Simply click the Stop button. If that doesn't work then simply restart RFSA. That happenned to me a few times. If that doesn't work then reinstall. |

Sorry to bring back a possibly dead topic, but im having almost the same problem wiht RFSA. If i try to add any maps it crashes with a runtime error, however when i start the program by default the CTF maps are showing, and i can run the server with those selected. I just have no way to run my DM maps. If you cant chang the default location for SA to look for maps and such, is it worthless for those of us who partition our drives and install games seperate from our OS? And if that is so, why can it find the CTF maps without a hitch. I find it hard to believe that there is no way to reset this. |
