There are Readme files for things like that.
Create a folder like Snowdout in your mods folder -copy the mod (the vpps) into this folder
Create a shortcut on your desktop of RF.exe
Right click on it and choose properties.
Add the command line " -mod Snowdout" just like the folders name
then click ok and play it.
it is important that you name the folder right. If you name it "Snowed Out mod", and run Red Faction with that, you won't be able to join servers that have called their folders "Snowdout"
RedFaction "thinks" that this is a totally different mod just because of that. So always check the readme to name the folder properly. |

Quoting goober | Sweet! it works thanks so much, know of any good SO maps? | The only one that I could think of at the moment is these ones:

SO - DM - SO Piss Ball Cave

SO - DM - SO- Glass House Remix
It's funny that you ask, since you reviewed one of the files. Makes me wonder if the review posted was legit or not. |

Well after that statement, you are lucky that I no longer have the clearance to delete or modify reviews after they have been post. In the previous version of L4Y I did, which would have meant that review of yours would have been delete. I reject a lot of reviews because people say that it looks good but they haven't played it. How can you review a file without even trying it out first. Currently there are 3 reviews on the admin page which require assistance on how to get a file to work. One of them is Hive, I need to install it again so I can answer his question. He claims he can't get it to work. That review, even though it has a 5 star rating will never get posted, since it isn't a review. Get what I am saying.
<--A Scared User is (NoClanFrank). I just love when I see you guys try to get access to admin pages that you don't have access to. |

ehem no comment.
about making it so only people that are running so can play..make a private server and have your friends join. besides i highly doubt that there are many people playing with the SO mod any more. |

er dont you just start red with the mod running..
foud this when looking at the moving glass thread, and its your answer to your question
Quoting REDFROG |
Try the ui.vpp modification trick first. If you save maps with an active mod on RED you'll have to use that mod in Red Faction, too. I've been using Groups to cheat that.

Quoting goober | That's not what I mean. I mean in RED how do you make levels so red faction will only let someone play that level if they have this mod running? |
Well it should be the same as doing one for ISM mod:
Making an ISM level
Make a new shortcut on ur desktop called RED ism
Click on it once
Go to properties in the target add -mod ism11 or what ever ur version of it is called so it should look like this C:\games\RedFaction\RED.exe -mod ism11
Click "apply"
Click "ok"
Use use that shortcut to open RED editor and when you save your map it will be saved for that mod.
Just replace the names as needed for the SO mod. |
