I decided to make a forum thread about my mod since it seems that there is not so much of activity at my cdc
Anyway first of all I would like to introduce some reason WHY i have ended to Red Faction instead of many other games like HL or UT2004 etc.
This reason is very simple. Because I have no earlier experience from unreal based level editors I am no too eager to study one more system.
And what I have made levels for HL based mod they always had different scale for players what was VERY fustrating.
So after I get used to RED i loved too much to let it go.
To the subject.
I have listed here some of most important things that I will be planning and making for my mod. Some of these will need access to source code some not.
Mod will be developed upon RF 1.3 version.
- Inbuild scripting langue what allows developers to create variety of addons what interacty directly with game (like AMX for HL)[cumulative addons not permited]
- Level side support for AI pathfinding (for single enemies and MP bots) Like in thief 1 & 2 that level is calculated for AI and data included in mapfile.
- Server managment tool what enables server administrator to set multiple rights levels for players without giving actual RCON rights away. Also allows admins/operators to control players in server by enabling them to print messages to all or specific players and/or punishing player(s) if they disobey admins/operators.
Here is some highlights for things I am planning to add as gameside updates for RF.
Sofar I do not give any information about story or any other things related to my actual mod since they all are under development.
However now I would like to have suggestions; comments and critism about these things I have listed here.
PS. If ya find typos it due my slow speed internet connection what causes a mess for all the time for me.
