*Note: Im running windows xp: home eddition with sp2... on my other comp with xp home sp1 I don't get this error when installing the exact same thing *

Hmm, what processor you got in this problem computer ?

If you have 64 bit processor problem is caused because something in your system does not support anymore 16 bit programs what installers commonly are

So your only options are to use normal processor or find way to solve this

lol if your computer is too good ill be more than happy to take it off your hands

are your computers networked ... cause if they are then you can install it on the "other comp" and then share the place you installed it to and run the .exe on the "Beast"

I'm not sure... but isn't there programs on the internet to run a 32-bit environment on 64-bit computers so you can still install 16-bit installers and programs?

hmm I don't have a 64 bit processor I have a 32 bit with some sort of 64 bit extension on it so I can run 64 bit programs.

Nope!

I get this error when launching 3DS MAX.

What you do, is search your PC for "autoexec.nt"

Then, place the file from WHEREVER it is into "C:\WINDOWS\system32\"

If it's already in there, then, well... I dunno But this method SHOULD work for you.
Back in RF... getting back into the swing of things!
