Hi everyone Very Happy
The other day (wednesday) this computer broke down, i changed the hardcor thingy (where the disc goes) and now it works but it's sooooo slow. I've just been waiting for like 1/2 hour just to be able to write this. Does any one know anything about it and can you help me please?
(sorry, admins if this is a waste topic)

hardcor thingy? Maybe he means the Harddrive or the CD-ROM drive? That's confusing.

Apparently I found out that it was his CD-ROM drive. So instead of gettin` somebody who knew something about PC`s to fit a new one, he decided to have a go himself. He just threw the new one in by copying how it was wired up (sensible enough), but without setting the jumper to slave. What a pallava that was, explaining how to do that. I had to take my old PIII apart and e-mail pics of the back of my drive to him

Man, why does this not surprize me. I sometimes think that if people are going to get a computer they should take some sort of test to find out if theyre bright enough to own, maintain, or fix a computer. Im 17 and i can put together a PC from scratch, certainly they can too.
