Does anyone have an idea how the RF Full game was patched to prevent crashing? I'd like to take the same idea, and impliment it on the demo because there are retards who think they're cool because they can take every game down. |

I highly doubt its possible without having the source code. (which you cant get)
Ive never understood why some people stick to playing with the demo... |

well you see.. demo has much more options such as glitching which prevents modders from using mods such as "myth". glitching is fun because games are fun with glitches, but modders aren't. the only way to get rid of a modder is to ban it, and if it is banned, it most likely has a crasher.. so it will crash your server. that is why I want to create it. I dislike Full with a lot of passion because of all of the weapons, and the attitudes of players thinking they're good because they can beat someone on a map they don't know. demo has the best of the maps, and had the best of the players until crashing fools came along. is there a way to get the original source? or have the person who coded the original source come here and explain how it's done. I don't feel like packet sniffing everyone that wants to crash, and using DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) to remove them from the internet for a short period of time just to fix the crashers. |

You have a few issues there. Let's start off.
In RF(full) you CAN glitch..... And since it's only $1-$10 for the full version you can't go wrong. With the full version of RF you get better weapons and get to use custom maps. You say the demo offers the best of maps. You're wrong on many levels. I tried making a demo to full conversion which I could only get the full characters into the demo.... Couldn't get weapons or maps in. Anyway, custom maps are the rage of the future. Whether you like it or not the demo sucks mainly because of the not being able to use custom maps in the demo. Such as Microfaction 
And glitching DOES NOT prevent modders from using mods such as Myth. Myth is an external program running adjacent to RF..... HTH is glitcing suppose to stop that?! Moving on, there are hackers as well as modders if you pay more attention. Hackers use external programs running adjacent to RF as well just like Myth except these programs do other things like crash servers. There is one called Server Crasher 1.0 but I deleted it from my pc due to it being so damn stupid.
Let me just finalize this, GLITCHING DOES NOT KEEP AWAY MODDERS. If you glitch then the oppossed modder thinks, "well, this might be a challenge." And you know what happens next? They kill you as much as they can
In the full version of RF yes, you can use the baton glitch which allows you to fire multiple projectiles from the weapon you switch to. And many other glitches including the one where you can place a C4 charge on someone foot and make them fly when they jump. |

Unfortuanatly i doubt we will ever get the source code as it belongs to THQ.
And DOS'ing people?  okaaaay.
The "person" that created it was probably a massive team that worked on the game  .
Dont bother with the demo, full doesnt get crashes
How many people still play the demo anyways?
INFACT not many people play the full game now either... such a old game  |

What full version are you using? The >CB^S>Server has never been able to stay up for more than a week because of losers using those stupid server crashing programs. |

SnipedDragon made something effective against it for his [ISM] server as well as a nifty program that lets you type in rank to show your ranking in server based on kills/deaths |

Heh thats because of the person running the server
ive never seen anyone crash a server ive been on, But i dont run a server that often so meh. |

The HOOAAH server was amazing. I stayed at around 90-121 ping on 56k!
Around the time I got DSL it went down officially 
It was being crashed by wannabe hackers..... You can ask Foe about it. |

Yep, ran the mostpopular custom map server of all time IMO. Every 2 weeks a new rotation. Weird is the only other regular custom server that i played on.  |
