Which is better and more precise?
I have heard that USB mice seem not to be as precise as PS/2 mice are. Is this true?
Please post comments here. |

How precise a mouse is, depends on the mouse itself.
Fact is that PS/2 signals are processed by your hardware, while USB mouse signals have to be processed by software. |

Thought you were going for the MX518, sobe?
Use the adjustable DPI ingame to get the precision you want. |

The real question that you want to ask is Ball or Optical. I personally like the optical one's. The last time i had a mouse with a ball, dirt used to get stuck in it causing it to break |

Yes Lace, The Logitech MX518 is $39 and I think I may purchase it. But I am just curious as it has a USB to PS/2 convertor.... lol... Would it be better using the USB or the PS/2?!
So I know it's a quality optical gaming mouse..... But I want the best out of it, USB or PS/2... lol |

Well in my family PC, i have a USB mouse and i am using the USB to PS2 converter... it works fine. In my own PC i am using USB... can't notice the difference at all. So in a way it doesn't really matter. |

lol, ok
Now I just wonder if I actually want to conserve any USB slots
I got 4 USB slots and the Saitek Eclipse Keyboard would take up 1 and the Logitech MX518 mouse would take up 1 unless I use a PS/2 convertor. So I would have 3 available free slots. 1 for All-in-one Epson, and 2 for flash drives or anything else I want I guess.......
And I'm sure that that Saitek would work with a USB to PS/2 convertor... So that might free up even more slots....
This might work out |

I'd go for USB. mainly because USB can be plugged in after you have started up your computer and PS2 can't a PS2 mouse has to be plugged in before you start up your computer. not a really problem though, but thats why I'd go for USB |

I choose PS2 cause it has a slot made specially for it on the MB and i can use the USB for other things. Also i was gonna get one of those keyboards but being in Australia they are only getting released this month otherwise i would already have one |

The only upside of USB mice is that you can plug `em straight back in without powering off when the damn pup gets behind the tower and pulls the damn plug
There`s a little proggy about, maybe on majorgeeks.com, called PS2Rate that lets you ramp up the DPI of PS2 meeses for more accuracy than the bog standard 200hz. |

I think what Garner said is right, I doubt anyone could tell the difference.
And sobe if your worried about usb ports being taken up get a HUB! |

I got one of them hubs You`ll never guess where from.
I was dumping some rubbish down the landfill site when this guy turned up with a smashed monitor and I noticed 4 USB ports on the stand. So I waited til he`d bugged off, ripped the stand off, instant 4port USB hub |
