Lightning strike zaps PS2 player

Boy in New Hampshire gets electrocuted when lightning strike passes through TV, PS2 controller.

Some may say the violent gameplay of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto III is shocking. David Robinson, a 14-year-old boy from New Hampshire, knows better than most. While playing the game in the basement of his home during an electrical storm, lightning passed through his television and shocked Robinson through his PlayStation 2 controller. "I was worried my PlayStation was broken," Robinson told NH newspaper Foster's Daily Democrat. Remarkably, Robinson was not seriously injured. The controller, however, was fried.

That's pretty scary. I never thought that was actually possible.

I could be 24 and still not be able to buy R18+ Games

Here in Australia the government will not allow an R18+ classification for Video Games hence why Manhunt was taken off store shelves (didnt stop me though ) and NARC to name a couple.

but back to the topic it is possible to get an electric shock from an electrical applance during an electrical storm and for some cases you dont even need to have contact with the thing that zaps you. One guy got a zap from a microphone becuase it was laying there plugged into his computer facing him. It wasnt a bad zap but just shows it is possible

Just thought I would give a heads up if your planning on getting the PlayStation 3. I heard that the controllers are almost 60%-80% metal as well as most of the console itself. Also there is a built in tv you can supposebly use by sticking a large antenna out your window(lightning rod ). So I think everything is in place LMFAO

Sounds like this is gonna be a commonplace occurence then.

One of my friends had morrowind for xbox, it was one of the most rubbish games and i couldnt stand it. Maybe if he moved a bit quicker and the animations weren't half finished it would be more playable.

Meanwhile back to the opening post:

These force feedback controllers are gettin` a bit toooooo force feedback.

Either that or it`s gods way of supporting the age rating system.
