Welcome!
Post 1 / 5

being ultra new to this site, I need some help on some of the following. I was heavy into making maps, some of which made it to some servers for GOTY UT. I just recieved UT2004 for fathers day (love my kid) and would like to jump into the UT2004 areana. I have made some maps, and would like to know where to upload them, and a more detailed description on what the projects section is for. For Instance is it a place where you can put up a series of maps, or are you to work on one specific project in that area. Any help on this would be great. Basically a how we do it here, would be great.
I am interested in developing maps, and anyone, including begginers who wish to travel this path with, feel free to contact me.

For uploads, go to the section of the site you wish to upload for, in this case UT2004, and on the left, under the picture, there is a link that says Submit Stuff!. You can click that link as well. It will tell you exactly where to upload the files and how to fill out the form so it goes to the right spot. Once a UT2004 staff member sees the upload, they will check it over, and add it to the site. it will then be posted in a newspost letting everyone know about new files we've added.

As for the Project section, or CDC, you can do pretty much whatever you want with it, within reason. You can make it your little mapping forum, you can post beta maps for people to test, whatever you want. You get 25MB for pretty much anything. Every once in awhile, the UT staff go through the CDC's and run a script which gathers up all the latest news from the various CDC's, so if you continually post news on it, it will show up on the main site.

Now, the CDC is not a replacement for your files on the site. If the files are posted on the CDC, they're not as easily accessible as if they were on the site. So if you finish a map, don't forget to submit it to the main site as well.

Well thats a start for ya. If the staff here at L4Y can be of assistance, just ask. Thats what we're here for.
