I'm having what may be the oddest mapping problem ever. A bunch of strange errors have popped up in my map that have no basis at all, and I have been totally unable to fix them or even find out what the problems are. What's strange is that a few weeks ago(I haven't worked on it since then), NONE of these errors were occuring! They just appeared when I tested it recently. The errors are very strange, such as a trigger that for some reason isn't always triggered when you get near it. Another is a triggered teleporter that has gone totally nuts. When it is first triggered, it won't teleport you unless you are standing in it when it turns on. Later, another triggered teleporter works, but sends you to the wrong teleporter...and then the first triggered teleporter starts working!! But most importantly, none of these things were happeneing the last time I worked on it, and I haven't changed anything...What on earth is going on?!?!
The thing is, this map has an extremely complex system of triggers and movers that is almost like spaghetti code. They are all necessarry, and had been working fine...until now. They are probably the reason for the triggered teleporter error...but I really don't know how, or how to fix it...

I'm not exactly sure whats going on but as an example when I was working on my CTF4 map I had bizarre errors with the jump pads, I deleted the jump pad actor and put it in again and it ran fine. I don't know if this is the same sort of thing or not. Maybe you could try deleting and re-doing one of the triggers/teleporters to see if it fixes it (remember to save the map under a different name).

When I find the time, I may have to do that...this will mean finding all the movers and triggers that activate or deactivate the triggered teleporters and remaking them, not to mention all the ones for other things that are screwing up, like the changing spawn points(it's an AS map). This will likely cause more harm than good...but what else can I do?

I don't know what else you could do (>_<. Have you tried the Atari Forums or the UDN website?

That was a rhetorical question. Besides, it's a pretty vague problem...I don't know how you'd look up something like that.

You would have to find someone who had exactly the same problem.
