My friend is going to start a gaming website,whit reviews and the works,and he asked me for help whit it,and naturaly i have no idea how to help,so an anyone if you can,give good pointers...and maybe sugest a name,he is currently going for GAMERS HEAVEN,but hes not sure yet,so please if you know some good ideas,or anything,such as what sections to add etc to help his dream come true,post here 
P.S. Im in the "staff" aswell,so youl be doing me and him a favour

Well if your looking for design suggestions then I'd say first off use as few images for your layout as possible ( or very small sized ones ).
Take a note from most websites out there:
They have a top banner section, a left and a right bar and a bottom one, then all the main content in the center ( Look at L4Y for instance ). Oh and keep everything consistant, nothing worse than a site that looks different on each page.
Other than that, I'm not good with names heh so...

Place blocks on each side and modules, etc. in the middle. Or better yet get a host with cPanel and use Fantastico to install PHP-Nuke
Easiest thing yet... lol |

this site would be a pretty good model to base your ideas on, you could include reviews on the hottest games available and allow comments in forums such as these, you could also include different platform reviews and reviews on differnt aspects of gaming, such as game pads, joy sticks and possibly even video cards. It depoends on how much time and effort you want to spend on this project. A quick look at sites such as PC World or gamers.com might give you some ideas to use as a guide for layout and design |

Alright,started designing it already,so far i got 30 things to do for it,lol it will probably grow but now i need either a free or cheap/good host,as in not like 50$ a month for 2mb of space |

That site has been dead since i lost my computer, i cant really get online long enough to do anything 
getting new stuff on either monday or tuesday tho!
But yeah systemblink is hosted on Fasthosts

We use the professional linux hosting with all the extra stuff.
My bandwidth is set quite low ish at the moment mind, Untill i get a job i cant afford anything amazingly huge each month.
Cant remember exactly how much a month im paying,cant be assed to check online either.
Its 15 quid a month ish. something like that.
heh your site idea sounds like what systemblink is supposed to be like. with all my downtime and beatonator dissapearing its been hard to keep the reviews coming.
hopefully i can get it sorted this week or something.  |

nice work, i was going to offer to help you make it but i can see that you're skilled enough in photoshop
i would suggest www.foreverhost.us or www.surpasshosting.com they are the best two in my opninion, forverhost probably tops surpass because you get unlimited space and unlimited bandwith, my website is on free hosting (www.funpic.org) maximum file size of 1mb but php+mysql and unlimited bandwith/space.

Looks good, looks good.
10GB bandwidth is VERY good. Some websites only offer 500mb.
Basically, all it means is that 10gb worth of data can be downloaded from your website each month. Meaning, if someone downloads, say, a 250mb file from your site, you would have 9.75 gb left. But this also included page visits, so like 20kb for each hit.. but 10 gb ios plenty of b/w |
