There are programs you can download to do overclocking but it isn't recommended because it can cause instability and it is only temporary.

actually even if you have the proper cooling in ur comp any overclocking that is drastic will cut ur lifespan from 1/3 to 1/2, this is beacause hardware is usualy desined for having only so much voltage going through it, and overclocking requires more voltage

Once again, total rubbish. There is absolutely no proof of this.

AMD Semperon 3100+
512 MB Legend DDR RAM + 256 MB Legend DDR RAM
128 MB GeForce FX5700 LE
80 GB Seagate HDD

I find my system runs fine without overclocking, although it does get a little warm because its in a desktop case.

if there is one check here that should give you some help in overclocking

That's a nice Overclocking Guide that majorgeeks.com has. Thanks for the link, not that I would ever overclock my PC.

I can easily overclock to a stable 320, which means the FSB would be at 1280. But, if I wanted a faster comp, I would just go and buy one
I prefer to keep my warranties on the stuff I get.
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
