I make the server on one PC, but then can't see it on my second networked PC? Help.

Did you forward the correct port on the server PC?

Hi there,

To find your server in the master server list you have to add it manually.

1. Start the RF server on one pc.

2. On the other pc, start Red Faction game. Go to the server list. When the server list finishes listing all available servers, click the "Add" button on your bottom right.

3.In the box that appears, type in the IP address of the network card on your server pc (For example: 192.168.0.1 or whatever it is....please note that the network card IP is not the same as your internet IP!!!)

4. The server will appear on the master server list and it will stay there as one of your "favourites".

Hope this helps you.

Note as well, if you are using a forced port:

1.2.3.4:1234

IP Address
Port number (usually 7755 on defaults)

Thanks all for the help.
I have two PC's, and DSL. My primary PC I can run the server and see it from the second. But not the other way around. I have even tried to use Force Port on the second PC's server. 1st PC still won't see it. Even when I Add Server and type the IP Address. The second PC is set up as Server Assigned IP, how do I see what it is??
Thanks for all the help.

Just a FYI:
Are you aware that if you run a dedi off of a pc, you cannot play in your own dedi from the same pc? If you have more than one you can join your own server.

Maybe I'm thinking something else, but before I got my second computer I ran a server using RFSA and was able to play in it while on the same computer. I just had to change the port I was using.

Guess I should have kept reading on to the second page.
