I know that I, personally almost threw up when I got Red Faction 2 for PC and realized that it had no multiplaying ability.

Seriously? Gross!... that's hilarious. Sorry

I really do want to get my hands on a copy of RF1... does it play multiplayer well on lower-end PCs?

Mega, you have yet to live...

The greatness of RF1 is all-encompassing, mostly because it DOES support low end computers (but I recommend at least 800 mhz for play, and you'll have to play it on low quality). Also, the greatness continues: the multiplayer works well on my censored connection (28k, but it dips as low as 16 k and (with some lost connection problems) still works fine by me (but don't use 16k for a massive server, but still 28k works even on frag4 (but not if the capacity is like 22 or higher), which is still nice). Basically, RF is the ultimate multiplayer FPS because they did it right the first time. It works under the worst case scenarios (because any computer too slow to run RF on the lowest settings needs put out of its misery) in processing AND connection speed. Too bad they had to make a "new and improved sequel".

Where to buy it: amazon.com has a nice spot. You could always get someone to burn it for you (sobe or someone suggested mailing cds with maps for the RFU3 competition, so why not the install (THQ can't possibly make any real money off of new copies of RF, so I don't see this as a BIG morals violation, but you still might want to write THQ a letter of congradulations so they know you enjoy their *cough* pirated *cough* game) don't you look at me that way, I didn't actually tell him to do it, but suggested the idea, which is FAR different from telling him or even doing it). Just for that idea, I think I'll go save up and donate some money to THQ for my poor ethics.

I don't really give a damn about pirating. Arr matey!

That sounds like a good idea, but none of my friends own it. A cryin' shame. I'll find I way I swear... whoo.

There's almost always a copy on amazon.com or e-bay for as low as $4.99.
