In Brush Mode, select the brush you want to be the grating.

Now Right Click and select Properties (or press CTRL + P)

Tick the box that says 'Detail' Then press OK

Apply your grating or glass texture to the brush (if you need smashable glass just say )

Then rebuild and you should have your beautiful grating

I would recommend the thickness of your grating to be 0.125 else and put a 'border'around it (e.g its best if you dont just have a bridge entirely of grating)

Hope this helps!

Creating transparent textures is pretty easy. I don't have time to post the whole process now, but I will post a tutorial later on when I get home from work.

Do you have Photoshop or Paintshop? I will be posting instructions on how to create in Photoshop, because thats what I use. I would guess the process is similar in PSP.

In Photoshop, select the area you want to make visible with the selection tool. Then in the task bar click on "Selection" and save it to the alpha channel. Then save the file with TGA format.

Thats all I know for now, perhaps it helps..

ps: why do you IMS me when u already have a thread running about this?

Usually it's the same procedure in every image editor... you select an area and then save it to disk. Sometimes you can select "save with selection" or "alpha channel" in the "save to" dialogue..

I'm not an expert in this
IMO Photoshop ain't really useful for making 32bit TGA files.

When I use Psp8 tga files in RF, the game just crashes. I have to load them up in "Photo Plus 4" and then save them again to get them working.
They must have screwed up the code in version 8.

try this: http://www.levels4you.com/forum/view.l4y?view=77440if you have paintshop pro.
its for decals, but works the same for any texture you want to add transparency to.
