I am curently making a new map for Redfaction. I wanted to get some meteors to fly thru the sky every now and then but i'm unsure as to how to go about doing it. If you could give me some advice or just flat out tell me that'd be much appreciated.THX

In rfu3, A1 made a nice meteor effect using particle emitters (map is the lunar landing one). In rfu2, the Aliens map has some meteors for the cutscene.
Depending upon how you want it to look in map, particle emitters, moving group, or even a custom made VBM would work. |

Remember how u got the car to rotate around the map in RFU Thunderdome blaze? Well do that with each meteor but have them moving slow.
Once you have rigged that up, select a meteor that should be moving round your map, and make it another group and add a rotate in place keyframe to it but leave this one inside the rock. Now make that rotate loop infinate 360 degrees so it will spin as it rotates ur map. Do that to a few meteors and it should look trick
Otherwise just have them coming across the sky but make the meteors rotate too. |

Can you really make a mover fly through the skybox or put the keyframe path to go through a skybox?, would not you get a mover, outside of level error ? |
Red limits breached?, Yep, (20,000 fces and its still going !) |

Roughly speaking. You can do it and you don't get an error. That's all you really need to know.

You could have somwthing move through the skybox as long as the keyframe isn't actually in there. Whether it will show up r not is a different matter. Not tried it yet but will do tomorrow Give it a whirl n let us know

Interesting idea, I've tried to put things in the skybox (brushes yes, movers, particle emitters no). Never thought of having a keyframe path through the skybox.
