Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I remember, all you need to do is set the textures as panning. To do so, right-click the texture(space) you are working on, goto properties and cheak the "panning" or "pan texture" box. Most imporantly, you MUST geo before the textures will pan. Hope that helped |

You create a brush that you wish to be your conveyor belt. Texture the top, click properties, click "pan texture" and then set rate of pan.
It takes geo to set this panning though.
If you want to get fancy, you can rig a small geo region to go off when players first enter the map.
For an example of this, see my map DM-CYBORG. There is a nice conveyor belt rigged by "when dead" set geo regions. Open the map with the VPP builder, extract RFL, and then look at it in red to see how I did it. |

In order for your texture to begin panning, someone must blow some geomod in you map (don't ask me why they made it that way). It is possible to rig it so that a little git of geo is set off at the moment a player spawns into the game, thus setting your textures panning.
This map:
http://www.levels4you.com/review.l4y?file=9884
has an example of a conveyor belt which is started by player triggered geo. Personally, I learn more by looking at how something works than just reading a description of how it works, which is why I encouraged you to look at the map in RED and see how I did it.

Looks Nice but which file the rfl cause all I got was the panel design for it.
I got the thing made in my map which is close to ita little but it dont move.
lol like a noob I added a geo region lol didnt work of course took it out.
So far its looking ok I guess but yall been at it for yrs. And I figured maybe i should try to become better at something else ya know try something new.
But i have so many problems getting stuff to *work*. Yes many ppl have same issues but with 1000's of ppl complain and whinin at ya like a cheeseball aint much ya can do but leave and move on.
I know it seems im being stuborn a bit about asking so much and not figuring things out on my own but I like advise. I used to help others in personal life issues compared to trying to learn more about my own ya see.
lol ok enough of the depressing junk.
Awsome map ill give a review tho this be my first since I never look at a maps detail much. I just like to frag baby!

I'd appreciate the review...always thought that was a map that didn't get the attention it deserved.
Here are more detailed instructions"
Highlight the texture which you wish to pan. Then right click to "properties." You should see a box that says FACE PROPERTIES and at the tope you will see a line that says Pan Textures.
The Tile U and Tile V features are essentailly indicators for which direction the panning will happen. Just to start, put a number (I suggest 1) in Tile U. Then close it.
Now go test the map with a riocket launcher so you can do some geo damage. Once you've blown up some geo, the texture should be panning. If it is going the direction you want, great. If not, then gop back into the texture, and put the number ! in Pan V and put a zero in pan U. Test again. Putting numbers in both will make it pan at an angle. Play with this till you get the effect you are looking for.
Once you get this working ok, then (and only then) do this next step.
Make a small air brush(ex. 1x1) and embed it in a wall or floor near your conveyor belt. Switch to object mode.
object/event/catalysts/WHEN_DEAD
Put a when dead event in the box.
object/event/level/explode
put an explode event in the box
highlight the When Dead event, hold down the control key and then highlight the explode event. Both should be Red now. Then hit control K. Now you should see a blue line connecting the two.
w, shift-w. L, shift-L. save, create packfile.
Now when you test it, that geo should go off when you spoawn in to the game and set the etxtures panning automatically. |

CENSORED RJ, I don't know how much more we can explain it in detail...I'll attempt to simplify...
(1)Into Texture Mode...
(2)Left-Click to select (the texture you want to move)
(3)Right-Click, select "Properties" on the sub-menu(Drop-down menu)
(4)You will see boxes, cheak the one that says 'pan texture'(or something to that effect)
(5)Set the 'panning' motion in the direction you wish (may take some tweaking)(Guess and Test "!f U|2 4 n00b" )
"L"
"CTRL L"
"W"
"CTRL W"
File->Save As->My1337map.rfl
File->Create Level Package
Hu-hU, I said package |

I might be wrong here, but in the one default level, there is a working conveyor belt. I suppose you could open the VPP in VPPVIEW and extract the RFL and TGAs and see how they did it. |
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car. |

Make the push region cover the whole of the conveyor belt with the arrow on it poitning the right way and only check the 'Grounded' setting in it's properties. Give it a similar strength to the speed of your tiling textures on belt.
Going back to a question u asked in your first post.. you will not be able to make it switchable to go both ways! |

You don't really have to go into Red just to test to see if the textures are panning, it does it automatically in the editor but only when you move the camera view using A or Z but this might now show until you have 'render everything' turned on.
I still think it would've been good if they the developers of Red Editor allowed movers to actually move in the editor as they would in the game so you can easily correct faults without having to load up the game over and over and over to adjust mover settings.

Red limits breached?, Yep, (20,000 fces and its still going !) |

Yeah, I didn't mention the puish regions because I was focussing on gettting the textures to pan. You will need push regions that move a player more or less as fast as the panning texture (so it looks right when riding the belt). This takes a little trial and error but it's not that hard. The only difficulty comes if you want the conveyor belt to turn a corner. In that case, you have to fidget with the converging push regions a bit to get it right, Lots of testing needed because there can be little spots where the player can get trapped by the puish regions if you don't do it right.

Instead of a direct link hole to the surface I just put it right under my motor with a 1x.1x.1 and a 1x1x1 airbrushes.and turned may damge and radis little smaller.
With a .5 radius and a 1.0 damage
