Post 0 / 5 ok i want to reskin a couple of models to use in multi play.i've located the .tbl file that tells me what textures are used for the models,all i have to do is locate and alter them.what i need to know is what to do from there.do i have to create a separate .vpp to place in the mod folder?can i just replace the originals in the original .vpp?or do i need to do something with the ui.vpp?the only mod i ever used was the "answer mod"(pretty cool btw)and that simply replaced the ui.vpp and changed all the skins,sounds and other stuff. sobe    Posted 7th May 2005 3:36am Post 0 / 3194 For skins you should backup your ui.vpp then, in the duplicated one add your skins with the skin names of the characters. You can do that for weapons as well. Post 0 / 5 so would that mean making the name of the new texture the same as the original?and what about the originals since they are spread out through the 4 map.vpp files do i remove those(sending them elsewhere as backups ofcoure)or do the textures in the ui.vpp override the originals .oh and i just noticed some1 made a mod that you just toss into ur multi folder,would that work for just skins?if so, how?    Modified May 7th, 04:32am by SpazMonkey Johnny_Suave   Posted 7th May 2005 5:46am L4Y Member Post 0 / 1154 Ya name them the same as the originals. Don't delete the original files, the new ones will take over for them. I don't think there's any special trick to making something you can throw in the multi folder. If you put a vpp with the right files in there, and it doesn't work, then it won't work. Me, I hail from Thunder Bay, Ontario. Post 0 / 5 an other question, if i use the skins will i see other players as useing the skins or just only players who are actualy useing the file for the skins?i know that in order for other players to see the skins they need to have the file also.what i want to accomplish is if player A and player B are useing the same player model but player A is useing the new skin file and player B is not i want to see the new skin on player A and the old skin on player B.is this possible?
