i cant seeem to figure out why, but if i try, i can crash my map. the build report is Quote | Chopping portal: 11/11

anyone see anything in there that might cause an instability in the map?
its level properties are set at 100 for the geo, but i do have a few geo regions that are needed. if you work at them pretty hard, parts of the floor go invisible, until you crash out to desktop.
any ideas? |

It's just some CENSORED [Censored] RF engine bug. I get this sometimes, and it comes at random, I have no idea how it can be fixed other than to ... well pray... or.. turn off geo all together |

well. i just went through, and cut the geo regions WAY back.(to minimal size) im still able to crash the somnabatch i even pulled out the main portal in the map. same thing. i cant figure this one out. prolly gonna have to remove the geo completely in order for the level to be stable. not something i wanna do. |

Try removing those.
As for parts disappearing, I've seen that happen before ( like in the lunar landing map for RFU3 ) I don't really know the cause, RF can't seem to render the brushes which would make me think that you tried to geo a brush that has alot of faces already.
This is just a guess but I think RF must have a limit as to how many faces a brush can have in-game. The number obviously goes up when you geo... 
Geo crashes are usually due to PS2s I find, T-joints are also a problem though. try and find them and remove as many as possible.
A way of trouble shooting would be to only have one small geo region and test to see if it will crash is geo'd alot. If not, make another and try that until you get a crash. Move them around and find the problem areas. |

Yeah, it's always better to set the levelt hardness to 100 and then place geo regions where you want them. The geo should be a lot more stable and less prone to crashage that way 
Get the infinite fast rocket mod for quick geo testing too |

really? me and plenty of people took rockets to that map over and over again prior to release. never had a crash, or any brush oddities. thats freaking weird. |

ok. first off, i already posted this about 10 minutes ago, and it didnt show. 
well, ive removed everything from my map. one bye one. still crashes all the way up until i get to the point where i have an empty room with a skybox. ive tried removing just groups of stuff, and one item at a time. EVERYTHING crashes this map. ive also gone so far as to create a group of everything and put it into a new main brush without the skybox. still crashes. im about to remove RED from my pc and never map again.
the real bummer is that this is the map i had a really good test on the other day, and we found the gameplay to be quite fun.

Could have just been my graphics card with the lunar map but most of it vanished 
Thats very strange that it crashes with just an empty room. Could be something to do with the actual rfl then 
As a last resort you could always have no geo ( I know it's a downer ) |

yeah. it kinda does look like im breaking into the skybox just before it crashes. why?
oh, and originally, i did have the map at hardness100, and then put in my geo regions. after the first crash, i tried all variations of the two. believe me, i tried everything i could think of. but...hell, im no pro. especially when it comes to portaling and lighting. |
