To start your own clan you're going to need a tag! That is something before or after your name (ie. *T3*Kerpal or <DZ>Kerpal) You just make one up! Second,, you may want to make a website or something like that! Third, you just ask people if they want to be in your clan. If they say yes, they just wear the tags, and you as a leader need to challenge other clans to wars or matches to even make it worth while! Unless you give your "members" (lonely souls) permission to set up matches! You guys just run around like idiots and talk to each other about games or whatever!
IMO Clans are nothing special and as a leader, you are gonna spend more effort on a website and recruiting people than actually playing the game with your friends!
*also* You may want to set up your own server for RF, which is the game you're recruiting for right? And make it a 1.3 because tons of people like to accuse good clan members of modding (in my experience ). You have your work cut out for you!

Ya... well i was scimming through for the first time in the forums after having an account here for 5 months LOL. Well I was wondering how that port stuff works. I have DSL and a wireless router but my pc is hardwired and my dads PC just runs off the wireless router but my PC is hardwired but I don't think my server shows and when I do have servers and people joined them(WHEN I HAD CABLE AND ROUTER)their pings were all high when their pings should usually be low. now that I have DSL I wanted to know if their pings were still low but my server doesn't show up.....

You could have created your own topic for that, or just used the search utility.
Maybe your router needs to be reconfigured.

What if ur dsl is hooked in a LAN?
Then you will need to forward the correct ports to the game.
In this case the default port for Red Faction is 7755.
To find how to do it you will need to have access to the router(password) and know what name brand of router you have. After you have all that then youy should go to this site and find the instruction on how to forward a port.
BTW to know what your PC LAN IP address(which you will need to know to be able to forward the port on your PC) and if you are running WindowsXP™ then do this:
1. Hit the "Windows Key"
2. Click on "Run"
3. Type in "cmd /k ipconfig"
A small black window will pop up and under IP address you will find what it is. For instance mine for this computer is: 168.192.1.101
